After destro, this spec has to be the most broken spec out there. Their mobility, damage, and control is absurd. You can’t kite them. You can’t even peel them, really, all damage coming from dots/gush. 60% slow being auto-applied and can be applied by their throwing knife/Fan of Knives. Subterfuge is extremely broken and makes the classes main weakness no longer an issue. Damage is absurdly high, I had a short match against a rogue and GW did 1.2m damage and the rest of his abilities were all 300k or less. 6 second kidney on a 20 second cooldown. Feint. Blind -> into sap pretty much unstoppable unless you get a lucky Ring of Peace. Spite benefiting this class and it’s most common DPS partner the most.
Idk I just don’t know how this spec is allowed to exist like this currently. Feels like they never lost a single thing when the great prunings happened. So so many rogues playing roughly 400 rating higher than they actually are.
At this point, I’ve gotten used to fighting destro. I understand their setups and when I should actually kick the CB and when I shouldn’t. Everytime I fight a rogue I know I’m going to be fighting against the clock.
Season and expansion is pretty much over, so not expecting any changes, but seriously praying that rogue/mage aren’t the same in shadowlands.
It really feels like this expansion had some form of rogue bias. Even from a PvE perspective (M+), the highest players in the world run with a rogue due to their toolkit.
To be fair, Destro, Fire and Havoc are all extremely powerful in PvE too.
It’s a real shame that the PvP developers care very little about their product honestly, at some point you’d think they would take a little more pride in their work, but I’m guessing the funding just isn’t there.
Understaffed, underpaid and the ~5,000 active PvPers aren’t worth the investment.
No I’m never surprised by Blizzard’s gross incompetence anymore. I’ve already descended into pure cynicism at this company’s constant inability to do anything right
Their defensives are strong but once over they die easily. Problem is, you can rarely focus the rogue since it gives free reign on the mage breathing down your back.
Definitely needs a nerf to how the class interacts with gushing wound but other than that it’s fine. It is busted that a rogue does as much damage as an Arms Warrior, with a mortal strike, with 5x more utility & CC, and extremely strong defensives
I’m surprised anyone still cares about PvP, honestly. And I’m surprised that anyone else is “surprised” that meaningful changes aren’t being made. Where ya been?
Just want to point out that current R1 title is displaying as around top 200, which means 200,000 players are participating in PvP. Even if you consider half of those are alts, that’s still a pretty solid number
Tbh I was thinking of 3 changes/nerfs that would bring assa down a notch and still make them viable. Only issue with this is that WWs and DHs will be disgustingly rampant once it happens. But anyways, here’s the list:
1.) Increase the cd of sprint and shadowstep by an extra minute.
2.) Nerf throwing knives to where it does NOT generate any combo points and only has a 30% chance of applying poisons to the target.
3.) Delete crimson vial and bring back recuperate where rogues re-generate their hp based on combo point consumption.
Tbh assa isn’t supposed to be a powerhouse of both damage and control as it is now. It should be perceived as a lethal spec that does a TON of dmg if it connects to targets, while sub should be the king of utility, control, and high setup damage. I hope we see these spec distinctions come back in SL.
