I just did these back to back and the jump in difficulty to layer 5 was really bad. Like going from normal to mythic bad. Anyone else notice this? Or is there some RNG involved? Also hardly got any anima, even though I only made it to level two before maintenance.
I find this is actually a total RNG thing. My first 5 I entered into had a narrow path with 2 bosses in it and I died 3 times within 2 minutes of entering dungeon. I hard reset and the next run was… completely fine. If you get bad luck on the first floor or two before you get powers, it can be a bad experience.
Good to know, I was wondering if it was RNG. This one was super difficult, like how I would expect 7 or 8 to be.
The difficulty is probably laddered to gear levels. Like one is tuned to heroic dungeon gear and then Mythic 0 dungeon gear, etc. that’s my S.W.A.G. anyway.
A lot of it is an RNG thing.
But mostly, it’s just very bad tuning.
They throw random powers at people as they progress through Torghast, then they try to tune content around it.
Sound familiar?
The end boss I got last week took me three attempts at 185 item level. I had to use a BL pet to finally get it down. It took 67 second to kill (360k health), and it threw out 59k damage during that time (even after my well-timed interrupts). If you’re not a healing class, that is difficult to deal with.
This week, the boss at level 5 just about fell dead when I walked into the room.
Ion says that they’re not bad at math. I disagree. They suck at math.
On layer 5 I killed the boss in about 7 seconds flat
Granted I had 90% base damage at the cost of like 25% max hp, over 100% more kill shot damage and the 100% crit chance and 100% crit damage and 30% more base agility
I don’t know how hard my kill shot hit for but it almost killed the boss instantly, the other seconds were just set up
You realize the bosses are random, right? The boss you faced is probably not the boss other people faced. That’s part of the RNG.
I find some runs have harder floors for random reasons. Some runs they have easier floors. It’s just rng.
I don’t think it would have matter what boss it was with how staunch I was
I hit a wall on layer 3. I guess I really suck.
The boss wasn’t hard, but the floors were lol. I had times where 10 mobs (3 elites) all ran at me from across the room…I was like wtfrun!
Like other people have said, it is 100% RNG. I’ve solo’d both layer 6’s now as a 180+ outlaw rogue and the first time I did the Coldheart 6, I got almost no offensive powers, slogged to the damn tree boss, then wiped 4 times. Then, after I re did a layer 1 (I think this is the only way to changes the powers you get during the run) I got the 30% agi but no jumping power, the +15% damage every floor and a few other powers and totally embarrassed every mob on every floor on my way to the bug boss. The first run where I failed my dps was barely 3k and the second run my dps on the boss was close to 17k.
If RNGeezus isnt on your side, good freaking luck lol.
