I left in bc and came back at the start of bfa. I played a lot and enjoyed the return, especially the quality of life changes. With shadowlands almost here I thought I would be more excited … but I’m not. I’m not sure what it is … but none of the stuff really seems to be peaking my interest. Probably because I only play Ret paladin and it seems to be more of the same, the auras are meh and content wise just more of the same grind.

Don’t worry covenants are super not impactful and after the first few days you’ll forget most of the stuff is even in the game.
Just hit your extra button every few minutes and BE HAPPY.

Not excited at all… meh.
Maybe I just need to take a break and get off the hamster wheel. My main source of activity was raiding and gearing, but the last few months nothing but mount farming.
Maybe shadowlands is the right time to take a break. I found myself watching tons of YouTube content about bfa and was excited with all the changes and developments even though some sucked. None of the content I’ve seen so far has me excited

within a couple days ill have all new blue gear and probably some purples, but so what? Its meaningless.
I’m very excited. New stuff to do! This is about as close as I get to that kid-at-Christmas feeling anymore.

After playing Through WoD i stopped getting excited for new expacs.
That’s quite the gap there. It literally is a full generation of people. An entire decade to be exact. This might be a very important reason.
If you are not interested so far, and there isn’t enough interest, my friend this simply might no longer be the game for you. That’s okay, and you can move on.
In the last decade the game has gone through some dramatic changes, good and bad. Regardless of having played BfA, the point is that as an old timer (I am too btw), the game might be tailored to another set of gamers than yourself. To not be around for so long, it can create a disconnect.
IF you already bought Shadowlands, and IF you have a group of friends/guild, wait it out (its less than a week away) and try it for the remainder of your sub.
Otherwise, consider switching to the Classic community. TBC Classic is almost a guarantee very soon. You’ll fit right in.
