Anyone else more motivated by rewards than competition these days?

maybe im just getting burned out or older but i find myself mainly queuing just to get seasonal rewards rather than actually wanting to push rating highly

for example when shadowlands premiered the season 1 mount i got glad for my first season ever because i really wanted it, and lately I’ve just been queueing for mogs and cosmic flow enchant (this season’s mount is sick too but i kinda cba to put myself through that again for now)

was wondering if this is a similar experience for you guys or if you just queue to compete and enjoy it

If its fun to play I do things other then xmorgs. The game is not currently very fun mainly because all my friends have left.

this is probably my biggest issue rn tbh
its not insane balance swings, or even the state of outlier specs
all my friends left and it makes me sad

Everything I do is reward based. I do KSM for a mount, I do 2100 for gear, an xmog , and weapon enchant. A glad mount someday might be cool, but the likelihood that I’ll sit in LFG every day on the same toon and push is pretty low, so I content myself on low-hanging fruit and call it a season.

Honestly all I really want is to get some gear and farm bgs.

The pvp itself is my reward if I have decent gear.

ive always been motivated by gear. if 2100 rewards the best gear than thats what im shooting for every season and if im feeling super motivated ill push for elite which ive already gotten last season and in BFA. so no your not alone

No, I’m an adult and am able to feel good about intrinsic rewards like ‘am I having fun’ - if so I continue to do the activity.

Only children or immature people are motivated by extrinsic rewards like better gear or other rewards.

very childish and immature of you to judge and frown upon what motivates other people or makes them happy

My old 7th students used to be that way only feeling good if I rewarded them with candy or praise. I then did my job and taught them how to get motivated by other means and looking inward. They grew up in the span of a single school year and became better humans as a result. This was something I focused on each school year while helping them grow in their mathematical careers.

i feel so much better to know you are molding the minds of our youth

I’m pretty sure I’m going to finish the last twenty wins for Gladiator this season and not q again until next season

It would be cool if there was a tier above Gladiator prior to R1, but as it stands I’m not even in the same universe as R1 players, so Gladiator marks the end of my season. Maybe if the game was more fun to q there would be more into it, but its either win 15 games in a row or get countered and go on a losing streak.

I burnt myself out of r1 pushing in Legion that I don’t have any interest in playing for r1s anymore.

I just grab my glad mount and try to 4fun comps with friends because the game is more fun when you’re just having fun.

Also nerf RMP.

When it comes to this games pvp, I just like to play it first and foremost. The gameplay can be great fun. Unfortunately, I don’t like the gearing this expac so I didn’t play much pvp and have quit altogether.

The icing on the cake for me is the pvp mount and the transmogs. I love getting the mogs. Again, barely got a couple mogs this expac because I can only handle so much of this expacs pvp.

Rating is not something I do. At all. I used to play dota 2 for the rating for many years. I’m over that stuff.

I’ve just been going duelist for the gear/mog/enchant.
