Anyone else miss Cata?

Am I the only one who misses Cata? Sure, it got a lot of hate when it came out. I remember all the Ol’School players saying that Blizz has gone Disney. But, now that we’ve gone through MOP, WOD, Legion (I liked Legion), and now BFA…

Cata is starting to look pretty good IMO. I especially miss the talent tree’s.

No, I hated Cata. One of the worst xpacs there was. All this talk about bringing back CC and making dungeons hard again and all it did was turn a instant queue for all specs to a 30 minute queue for DPS and it hasn’t recovered since.

Guess I can appreciate that it made me not care about doing any instanced content at all. Saves me a lot of time.

Cats just wasn’t good for it’s time. I enjoyed the water zones even though no one did it seemed. Other than that I was just kind of turned off by the expansion.

I liked Cata, but then again, I have liked all of the expansions.

The beginning of cata was very good and had a lot of content to do. The 6ish month content drought between finishing the raids and waiting on firelands (a 7 boss raid tier OMEGALUL) was kind of trash tho.

I have a feeling that if Blizzard had rolled out Cata and not made so many idiotic changes to the classic zones, that Cata would have probably had a better reception. I’m not saying it would have been a huge success like WotLK; however, with Barrens and 1K effectively destroyed it was clear that Blizzard had no qualms about uprooting all the things that made their game a success.

I miss every expansion before WoD. Would take any of them right now.

Cataclysm made me hate healing on my Shaman. But that’s no longer an issue.

I loved Cata but I don’t miss it. Happy with BFA.

I hated cata, that level grind holy :poop:

Expansions are getting old, they don’t offer lasting play like they used to, I’d be down for a class design overhaul, profession rollback and a level squish back to 60.

Catas biggest problem was they started advertising it a year before it came out. The teasers looked awesome. There was no way it could live up to the hype.

lol that 80-85 grind was flat out mean. I remember starting that grind thinking I would reach 85 in a week or two. Took months.

I’ve missed Cata since MoP. That feeling has never quite gone away…

They went Disney with MOP not CATA. Cata was when they listened to the elitists and discovered that people do not step up to harder content, they just leave. I rather enjoyed the last part of Cata, but loathed the first part

I was the Chosen One of my raid group to receive Tarecgosa, so obviously it was a good time for me. Not as good as MoP Lock, but still pretty good. But after Dragon Soul for a million years and people becoming increasingly more vocal about Content Droughts during that time, it was probably the beginning of a steady decline after the LFD Anti-Casual sentiment started popping up in Wrath.

Not really. The gameplay was fairly terrible coming off of Wrath. There were some changes towards the end of the expansion that fixed some issues, but the initial specs and talents were painfully bad. Also, the story and Deathwing in general was cartoon villainy.

I did like Dragon Soul and especially the 5 mans that were added. End Time was just an extremely cool concept. Unfortunately, Cata also pretty much fully killed casual pug raids, which led to the inclusion of LFR. Wish Blizzard would go back towards incentives towards social grouping.
