Anyone else loathing the 20th anniversary activities?

I can’t be the only one loathing the 20th anniversary activities. As I’m trying to acquire these stupid bronze celebration tokens, I am repeatedly thinking, “I’m going to have to do this every week?”
There’s gadda be a more fun way to do this than flying around looking for little purple globules or doing all this ridiculous busy work. I work two jobs and the only time I get to play is on the weekend and now I feel like for the foreseeable future, if I want the transmogs I’m going to have to run around looking for purple globules on the ground. Or doing PVP which I hate. I hope they revise this to make it more engaging or have more options because this is just awful. Or lower the cost of the transmog because this really sucks.

I think the 20th anni stuff is lame. It shows the devs are creativly bamkrupt and onlyc ared about that 90 dollar mount

Seems a bit hyperbolic.

Personally, I think it’s fun. I’m done for the week and can chill and do the Hallow’s End stuff and other things I want to do.

I like the mini events. I think they added some fun things.

I think the currency acquisition is oddly convoluted, but it’s still better than low droprate RNG.

I don’t know what y’all wanted. These are the types of events MMORPGs get. Rift does similar, as does Old Republic.

What exactly would you like to see instead?

There is an unlock that makes it so you can get the bronze from repeatable content like timewalking dungeons, but it doesn’t get unlocked until you already have gotten 100 tokens, probably would have been nicer if it was just unlocked upon getting your first 60 (the pre-discounted price of the sets)

I got three whole tokens before I gave up on it. Nothing is fun about it. It’s all a time gated grind. Man. What a fun way to celebrate.

I’m enjoying it. I don’t spend a ton of time in WoW, so being able to reasonably “complete” all there is to do at my snail’s pace works for me.

I enjoy all the characters that are scattered around. Some of which, if you haven’t been playing all this time, won’t make any sense. I think an NPC that would take you on a tour of these characters and talk about their place in WoW would have been a great feature. It would be not attached to any reward, so those who didn’t care/knew it all aren’t locked into it.

I felt that having Thassarian’s bio-pic on the stage was awkward when he’s towards the back of the event. I mean… yikes! >.<

The balloon ride was a surprise and I enjoyed that.

I was lucky enough to be at the Gates, so I’m not as disappointed - but can totally see how that event could have been 100x better for those that missed it.

Today I’m going to dip into the queue-able content and check that out.

The event itself isn’t bad, the rewards structure sucks.

All event activities should provide currency day one, not just after grinding out 100 over three weeks or more.

Players should have agency over which activities to participate and whether or not to use alts.

If they really wanted to gate the event, they could have set weekly acquisition limits and / or used DR on repeating activities.

I actually really like it. It’s sort of been a nice break from trying to push myself to do harder (for me lol) content. But taking lots of silly pics with friends, finding the costumes to be varian and alexstrazsa and then sliding around on the ice rink is funny. The story telling is fun and something seems to happen every time I go to watch it.

I think the codex event is terribly boring. But classic tw and being able to tw at level 10 is a huge win. The raid even was fun, what I’ve done of it so far anyhow. It’s well designed and challenging. Plus the rewards are awesome and a good way to get that something maybe you missed out on a while back.

I dunno, I think it’s non serious fun content to sort of wander in if you like to.

quests are only weekly which will make it hard to get all items

They kind of did that by linking them to weekly quests/events and making it account wide.

Like I said, though, the acquisition is oddly convoluted with the achievements and discounts, etc.

I wouldn’t say loathe, but I don’t appreciate that filling the % bar to get the additional 10% exp buff is prohibitively annoying. I’m not going to sit in the basket and AFK.

I don’t like this event for the most part. They’re trying to go get me to TWW content and I have no interest in doing that.

I would be having much more fun if I could be earning Bronze the same way I can earn Tender.

Idc about the event but I’m taking advantage of the exp boost to level some alts

It’s all boring and pretty low effort.
Fortunately I got my 44, so I don’t need to set foot back in there until next week if that.

Same. It’s just annoying it takes like, 30 minutes to get your exp buff.

Unless I’m doing it wrong.

To reach the ‘cap’, you have to do every activity, including the arena weekly, warmode weekly, kill Queen, run 5 TW dungeons, more PVP quests, more open world quests, etc.

Skip some of those and you lose out, plus you still don’t get currency from daily event activities or TW bosses until after you grind out 100 - which takes three weeks minimum, longer if one isn’t doing every single weekly.

I think there’s a miscommunication going on, because I’m not arguing against what you’re saying. I’m simply stating that a weekly cap isn’t the issue: the convoluted methods of acquisition are. Which is what you’re saying, as well.

Kill the three world bosses and do one of the events. That should take around 15ish minutes or so.

But honestly, I just refuse to do it. I don’t care enough about that buff.

Yeah, but I think it’s because the patch came out when I am already feeling burnt out from WoW. In fact, I’ve been burnt out from WoW for about a month now, but I’ve been extending my sub so I can keep doing keys with friends and kill Ansurek, problem is, outside of those two activities, I can’t bring myself to do anything else, I dread the weeklies more than anything else.

I’m getting the Judgement armor since I am already here and I think I’m stopping there.

Agreed - more complicated and annoying than need be, and not at all in the spirit of a ‘hey come celebrate 20 years with us’ vibe that I was expecting.
