Pressing a key takes like 10-15 tries to get a single ability off. Only happens during this event.
Open world bosses have caused extreme zone lag for as long as I can remember.
It’s normal, sadly.
everyone is having bad lag. not sure what blizz can do that won’t effect people questing in those zones at the same time.
i don’t recall lagging this hard with the DF pre-xpac event though. maybe a little here and there but not five second cast times on my instants…
blizz could have all four active at once so that we’re not always forced into the same zone?
The irony that Blizzard is so in love with sharding but won’t do it for the event is not lost here. Some fixes include but are not limited to:
- Sharding.
- Removing the ridiculous 90 min this week, 60 min next, 30 min the week after bottleneck and just making it 30 min period.
- Dramatically increasing currency dropped and/or lowering the cost of rewards so we can spend less time doing this mind-numbingly boring, half-baked event.
capping shards at 50 people would be the biggest one to fix lag. There are also a host of other bugs preventing people who do manage a tag in the slide show from getting credit on some kills so you just wasted your 90 minute wait.
Yeah, the last boss for example could say it still has 6% health and people are getting achievements for the kill.
Blizz needs to find a solution to this world lag with large event/pvp groups.
This isn’t fun. Set a timer for next event or keep an eye on wowhead timer and grind a currency slowly.
The only social MMO interaction going on here is a lot of people talking about the lag. Fun and engaging.
do not lag at all in a AV 40 vrs 40 , but if go to 1 of these events i freeze for about 20 seconds once it starts and it is too late to tag the boss, gg.
depends on which CRZ group you are in - if you are in Chicago PvE good luck. I had to stop playing this morning the lag was so bad with 100 ppl at the event.
Don’t shove the entire game’s population into one zone every 1.5 hours, instead, have the events frequently recurring or always up and across multiple zones.
Not hard.
The RP servers appear to be separate and playable.
the goblin event was the same thing, they all are the same, lagfests, they really need to do something.
Which is strange because RP Realms don’t shard, correct? I know there is usually less people, but what of Moon Guard?
they might shard in areas like that but even moonguard is just one server as opposed to being grouped with Stormrage, Area 52 and 20 others.
If only the people on my connected server were there, there wouldn’t be a problem.
those 80 players aren’t usually all in one tiny location spamming aoe.
I think the sharding is not working as intended in these event zones. I don’t “see” the other players that have been sharded but I get the feeling all the shards are on the same server processor, because even though I see only one horrifically LAGGED boss, the world map says there are 20 bosses at my location (plus 50-100 players per boss).
There is a patch going up out-of-cycle on Thursday (tomorrow) so hopefully they’ve figured out the lag at least… this event is unplayable on multiple characters as is. I barely had the patience to kill all 3 bosses, since Onxyia didn’t even spawn yesterday (last radiant echo went to 100% progress but never completed so boss never spawned), … it worked today, but casting was just a LOL-fest.
