Anyone else having difficultly with Sha of Despair?

Just got back into playing WoW and questing hasn’t been a problem up until now. The quest “In the House of the Red Crane” feels almost impossible too beat and none of the past tutorials appear to be relevant.
The very first move by the Sha, Gloom Whirl, is usually enough to kill me. Moving farther away doesn’t affect the damage, moving closer also makes no difference. It seems like the Sha used to reorient itself in the center of the room before casting it, moving farther away would circumvent the damage.
IF by some miracle I survived the Gloom Whirl then I will surely die soon after. Either by another Gloom Whirl or I get pushed into the surge of despair area and die. Auduin is devastating for morale as well, he is so useless it is almost offensive.
This Sha is frustratingly difficult and I can’t really wait until I’m stronger too come back to it as it scales with me. Obviously I might just suck a little at the game but this Sha is impossible to get ahead of. It’s not advertised as taking more then one player so I don’t understand why it is so difficult. Has anyone had any success in beating the Sha recently? If yes, please share your wisdom with me. It’s driving me crazy.

This quest has always been fairly difficult. (And it’s very possible that they messed up the scaling on it to make it worse.) If it’s the character you’re posting on, your ilvl is on the lower side for your level. (Not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but there’s room for improvement. Running a few dungeons for gear might help.)

Assuming it’s this character (or one that is at least level 40) the least frustrating move will be to take a detour to Stormwind and turn of Chromie Time to complete the quest. (And the turn it back on once you’ve completed it.)
