increase honor once you already have a max level toon or allow the transfer of honor, their “alt friendly” expansion is anything but for new toons in pvp
It depends on how you play, but all of my alts have been capped on Honor by the time I hit lvl. 70 with them. Leveling through BGs feels slower than questing/dungeons though, so I usually push the last two levels through questing/dungeons.
Which is worse?
100K health healer
350K health DPS
350K health DPS
350K health DPS
350K health DPS
or…
350K health DPS
350K health DPS
350K health DPS
350K health DPS
100K health DPS
Not meaning this as a troll or anything, I’m genuinely curious as someone with several healers getting ready to hit 70. I will at least gear in the crafted set unless it’s crazily priced.
In a meta where damage is so heavy and gear is so easily obtained, the individual performance of each player in small BGs matters. One weak link is a huge % less damage than you would otherwise do, especially when they just get one-shot.
If you didn’t know PvP greens exist on the AH, fine. I don’t think there should be a required iLvL for PvP or anything. But if you knew about them and are still queueing with 190k hp, it’s almost disrespectful imo. You’re wasting everyone’s time.
All that said, it goes both ways, and everyone loves blowing up the 190k hp guy that’s gearing up his fotm class so he can push Challenger II.
Those are equally bad, IMO. I wouldn’t favor either side.
Basically, I look at someone with low health as not even being there. So, the five vs. fives given as examples are actually all four vs. fours in my mind.
Mine was:
One healer, three dps vs. four dps. Given “equal” gear and skill I favor the side that has a healer.
Yours was:
Four dps vs. four dps. Given “equal” gear and skill that could go either way.
It’s both. The players should be gearing their alts adequately, this is a very easy expansion to get your toons to a viable spot. In the event that this isn’t happening, then Blizzard should be taking countermeasures to ensure that the game is still balanced for everyone. Crafted PvP gear gets you to 398. Normal PvP gear is at 408 with Conquest at 424. If you are below 360 ilvl, then Blizz should just scale you up to 360 ilvl. 360 still isn’t great, but it is miles ahead of some of the gear I’ve seen at max level.
Whether Blizz or the player fails, it’s the players that did gear their toons that are punished.
What happens next week? Are they going to uncap Conquest points?
I think catalyst unlocks?next week or week after idk
Players do get a boost to 359, working with a 316 minimum.
It’s understandable that sometimes players do not understand how this new friendly gearing system works. There are levels to it.
Watching characters with sub 200k (ilvl 359 Timewalking full sets) combined with reasonable Honor Levels and HKs indicates they might just be taking advantage of teammates. They know better imo.
Tank specs won’t save them and Healer spots is just a major hinderance to boot.
Lets look at it from a lore perspective, imagine the screams coming from behind the gates. Let me in coach! As geared soldiers ask to join the match. (players in queue)
And then the team inspecting teammates with gear from last year equipped.
Horde/Alliance would just eat/loot them and split the vendor earnings, which allows the next in line to join.
Vote kick access before gates? Item Level requirement?
I’m working on my 3rd alt right now. FIRST STOP at level 70 is the auction house to buy a full set of crafted PvP gear. In addition to BGs it immediately boosts the gear level of World Quests. It’s a good investment for both PvP and PvE, even though it will probably all be replaced within the following 48 hours.
Even if they don’t want to spend some money in the AH, they should be sticking to epic BGs for a day or two and stay out of the random BGs and brawls.
No, next week is just like any other week, people will have a little more gear. But by next week most people will have replaced the most important slots with 420 pvp ilevel gear so the weeks after that won’t see as much power increase, I think.
Nah, the majority of my games have been awful and actually frustrating to play. 9 games played today, 3 won.
Definitely. And choose some kind of support spec in the gearing phase. Or something ranged. Poor melee classes that can’t do any of that, nor stealth, kind of have to be fodder for a little while. Unless they just go spend a couple thousand leveling gold to skip ahead.
completely random. spawn camping them, being spawn camped, massive loss streak, winning occasionally. Still outperforming most in terms of dps and elims. So not good, oh, and also being spawn camped into a backfilled game that was already lost, so yeah, great so far :). glad someone is having fun at least
Before a human even touches these avatars there is a numeric impact value in place.
Without going into details, Gear, Spec, Healer#s, Teams come to mind. Examples?
These can be adjusted before we enter into any instanced PVP setting,
Matchmaking needs to be looked at and updated.
just got out of a “random” bg. it was a premade clearly, they we’re coordinating cc focusing kill targets. I trinked a cc and instantly got ccd again and then 4 people focused me down all at once. ended up being spawn camped. bgs are broken and it needs to be fixed, what part of “random” equates to you soloing and going against a full team in comms? In what world is that random? In what world is that fair? Comms vs no comms basically equates to one team vs bots/
Random is the Map which is “Randomly Selected”.
The other advantages which you mentioned are exactly what they are, this has been stated by Blizzard in times past. Moving forward lets see what happens.
can only hope they fix bgs/separate stacks and solo players. I mean I like arena and I was heavy into it last season, but despite that I still had most fun in bgs. I just don’t enjoy being spawn camped/forced to not rez it’s ridiculous.
