Anyone else getting sick of the crap they expect you to do with smithing ?

I am totally over the crap trying to level in smithing, Every time I think I will get to make decent gear because I have arrived at an achievement level Bloody nothing.

I just spent the entire week getting to Exalted with 7Th legion and still NOTHING I figured I have spent 150,000 gold in the last 2 months building stuff, scrapping it because NO ONE wants to buy it and still NOTHING.

Now I find most of the reagents I need to advance further like Hydrocore and others are only available during the raids. are only available when I do High level raiding I DON"T LIKE TO RAID ,

Th drop rates from scrapping for Expulsom are to damned low and I am hemorrhaging money every time I play and its no longer fun if its not fun I seriously doubt I will waste more real world cash to play the game.

I have been playing this game since 2006 and if I am being forced to waste time spend 1000's in gold and raid I will be playing NO MORE,

It's to hard to find recipes for decent gear , It's to hard to farm whats needed and its just ridiculous for me as a casual player I am forced to raid if I want to build up a skill

I made my own guild with My characters simply because I like to travel and run alone

And I think it is cool that Blizzard can make that happen but it really isn't the point of an MMO.

I think Blizzard needs to re-examine how professions fit in the game but I don't think it has ever been, or will ever be, the way you want it to be.

There has always been crafting materials and patterns gated behind group content.

professions are simply not worth it this xp

In case you still haven't figured it out, professions are worthless now. They're nothing but a sink to soak gold and mats.

The past couple expansions have ruined professions. They are becoming pointless and just time consuming, and as you said, a money sink. Personally I would not worry about it and just go about playing the game the way you want and avoid the things that frustrate you. Remember, it’s a game YOU play, and I know Blizzard/Activision made it, but they are not sitting in your seat controlling your character. They can sway us in certain directions if we want to get particular things done, but in my experience I’ve found to just drop it, and go about finding something else that I enjoy doing in the game.

Sure, this is an MMO, as I saw someone replied; however, with that said, there are a lot of rude and mean players in this game anymore and why subject yourself to that problem as well. I, too, have played since 2006 and a lot has changed. Not all for the good, but not all bad either. Being forced to do something if you want to complete something puts you at a cross road and you can only decide if you want to do the requirements or just say ‘screw this, I’m done… delete quest, not get item, etc.’ You know what I mean.

Don’t let a few small things get to you, and forget professions, just do the world quests for upgrades and anything you can find that you can enjoy! Good Luck to you ‘ingame’!

It wasn’t bad in Legion for LW. With the upgrades, my druid gatherer wore crafted gear for the whole expansion. And, no extreme content (mythics) was required for crafting, only time to collect the mats.

On the flip side quite a few professions are completely useless without doing PvP because of similar reasons. Either way professions are complete garbage this expac.

My personal take on this is they should spend a whole patch just reworking all professions entirely. Giving people a fun and engaging profession to partake in will give us all something fresh to do in any downtime. I hold firm the belief that we need to head toward a runescape type of profession system which would mean the grind being twice or three times as long but in exchange we get actual things that matter so when I mindlessly grind out blacksmithing I get more than a single piece of gear that’s good vs a meaningful profit for my efforts. Make the auction house fun by making professions fun

The whole profession system is silly IMO, not only blacksmithing. It’s clear whoever was thinking up professions and how they function, really has a lack of forethought, reason, and logic to fully realize a worthwhile-fun-engaging profession system.

In the beginning they were fine I made my own weapons and gear for my lower level characters and that worked fine instead of buying them I just used what I collected and made them, Now thats not worth the effort.

:joy::clown_face::skull_and_crossbones: nice one

Yep I did just that. I hate raids because of some of the idiots you get in them, They jump onboard raid until they get what they need then they bail.

I took abreak from the end of 2019 to just a few weeks agon and I have to say not much has changed I refuse to Raid in any way, Because i took a break I actually had fun with my Character for a whole monthe getting from 60 to 80 and now I am already bored so I am mining low level ores and stuff for my son who is an engineer and hes building loads.

I spend a couple horus strip mining low level areas with no risk gathering him several 1000 ore and other materials. But I will get bored again soon I am sure of it
