Anyone else feel like all warlock legendaries are kind of bad?

I’ve been buying up a few tier one legendaries to try them out and compared to other classes, they frankly seem kind of bad. Pretty much the best one we have is some passive no interaction chance to proc a +10-15% damage buff, and all the others have such small impact that i can hardly notice them. I just tried out demo’s Forces of the Horned Nightmare which gives Hand of Guldan a 15% chance to cast again and then tested it out on a training dummy and realized how low that chance is. It took so long that at first i thought it was bugged and plus started casting it at 1 shard instead of three just so i could pump them out more quickly. This is an effect that feels like it could be TRIPLED and still wouldn’t be as strong as other class’s lengendaries. And this is demo’s best legendary! Are bad legendaries why warlocks feel so weak right now?

Wilfreds and Cinders kind of feel like real legendaries. A lot of the other warlock legendaries feel pretty underwhelming, like the Madness of Azj’Aqir for Destro.

To put it bluntly, Warlock is in a super awkward state right now, where only Affliction is worth anything but it feels bad to play and is skating by on sheer base power with Synergy as a crutch. I like the benefit from Synergy, but it’s so RNG, even with its super high PPM, that I wish we had something better.

Current legendaries for lock feel like set bonuses.

yeah that’s kind of what i’m afraid of since i can play Destro and Demo okay, but i’m absolutely terrible at affliction. and it’s not like i’m a totally horrible player. back in BfA when i was casually raiding on my hunter, I’d typically fall in the top 20% on raid logs and a time or two scored top 3% which i was low key kind of proud of. but affliction is just a tad too much for me, i can’t keep up regardless of what addons i use and lackluster legendaries on the other specs aren’t helping.

The worst part is the 2 best Afflic memories are locked behind the last and second to last raid bosses. Why do I need them if i can kill the boss without them? Great design choice.

It’s pretty crappy so far as dps goes but i absolutely love my corruption slow ring, both in world questing/day to day activities and Torghast, it’s invaluable.

The aff ones are decent, even good I’d say. the shard refund and the 10% damage increase.

they just arent fun.

I am rolling an alt mage so I can cast pryoblast without a cooldown. That sounds fun as crap. I dont even know if its a good legendary for fire mage but I am getting it.

shard refund is boring though useful.

If the other classes legendary wasn’t that good, maybe our legendary doesn’t duck that much.

Just saying…

Warlock legendaries are bland, boring and rarely make a huge difference. Best one is the conflag one for Destro, that one actually does something significant

I made the lego that has 100% faster channel of drain life. With that setup for affliction i find it works wicked in solo/world pve and it works well in pvp. I plan on making the one that drops from last boss in raid.

I’m not kidding you when I say I have literally zero regrets making Pillars of the Dark Portal for my chest piece.

My mobility has gone up tenfold, and a really well-placed portal can create so much disruption in PvP and PvE, I’ve been using it as a hard CC. As Demonology it’s just pure fun and invaluable when you use it correctly, as whilst you’re bowling enemies over, your Felguard keeps wailing on them and going to town.

I think that’s what sold me. The fun of it.

I agree with an above poster that they aren’t necessarily ‘bad’ (at least, aff ones) but they are just not fun and passive. They give a spreadsheet benefit you can see in your parses, but can’t really see in-game.

The notable exception is the corruption legendary, which by contrast provides a nearly game-breaking ability (especially if paired with AC) in certain M+ weeks and in large-group pvp.

Well, we get to make our Affliction legendary this week for those of us who previously missed out. Mentally moving those goalposts re: whats ‘fun’ to play for myself ,until it looks like might be 9.1 for any tuning.

Do you mean the agony legendary?

Just FYI (if you haven’t crafted yet) the sims have changed since Beta. I made it at rank 2 right away, but have since learned that demonic synergy outperforms it in both M+ and raids, by a significant margin. And not just in sims, but in my personal experience as well.

Ah sorry I wasn’t specific. Sacrolash, the 50% slow and the damage boost to corruption, from Skoldus Hall.

Seed + Haunt combo becomes more attractive and affliction more palatable as a whole. Slightly. (Whew am I going to miss the Pillars of the Dark Portal mobility).

Yeah the corruption legendary is BiS if you wanna do anything in pvp as an affliction warlock. If they made corruption instant for the other two specs I wouldnt be surprised if it became the goto for them as well.

Horned Nightmare for Demo. Demonic Synergy for Affliction and Destruction.

I just made three demo implosion one yesterday and it’s pretty fun tbh. I was hitting haste levels in three upper 60% lol
