Idk what it is about aff, but it just doesn’t fit the theme to me anymore…
I feel like this spec is SUPPOSED to be the consistent spec of the three, but now it’s just a 1 minute hero spec surrounded around soul rot or malevolence.
I can’t stand spamming Malefic rapture as a dot spec, and vile taint is an awful discussion of its own.
Can someone tell me some times where Aff lock was at its peak in terms of gameplay and why…? Really wanna hear your thoughts on this.
At the very least give Vile Taint 2 charges.
Easy fix to this is making hellcaller the better option yes we still have MR but our dots will do more dmg. Im with you on the spamming MR to do big damage its annoying. Hellcaller has to much potential but blizz wont let it shine
The moment they put aff on a soulshard system made things a bit awkward. Used to be the skill expression was in snapshotting properly with your darksoul/trinket procs.
Maybe a new form of soulburn should be the spender
I’d prefer an revert back to how it was around legion. I know not everyone feels this way, but I just hate MR.
We were at our peak in my opinion when we didnt have to spam Malefic rupture/rapture whatever the fug it is called. When we were an actual dot and rot class was amazing. Place your dots, spread em around and just watch things rot away was a good feeling. I hope we get back to that soon.
Legion (after we got buffed around trial of valor) was incredible for affy. I cant remember the talent but it giga buffed our drain soul. BFA wasnt bad either with deathbolt and stacking UA’s. Dunno how many times we have to scream it from the rooftops before blizzard listens but GET RID OF MALEFIC RUPTURE ><
The thing that turned aff around in Legion was not any buff that occured it was the Weapon getting fully implemented our weapon tree in legion was amazing both for sustained damage health regen and for burst with reap and it buffing all other talents in the wepon tree while active. When Ian said no king lives forever about aff after legion it was because he knew they would never replicate that reap function from the legendary weapon.
The end of legion after soul effigy died. Although it was mostly because the spec was so completely busted. Still fun tho. Funnily enough that’s one of my favorite versions of shadow priest too. I guess I just like broken OP dot specs lol
On topic: The problem with a rework is; what do you rework it into? Dot specs are obsolete now. No spec deals damage with dots. It’s dots boosting other spells to deal damage, which allows them to deal damage quickly. I’m not against a rework, but I don’t really see how to make the spec work (especially in M+) without having it at least somewhat retain its current design
I miss DF afflock were i stacked mastery and put all the dots, then used oblivion, after using MR and drain soul to buff oblivion, it was majestic.
The best part was watching the enemy’s HP melting as it tries to hide behind a pillar just by the dots alone lol
Now they got rid of 2 of the old dots and made aff a caster class, i think feral have more dots than aff nowadays…
