I’m currently in the fifth stage and no longer care. It’s not quite as bad as the mob has made it out to be but it could definitely be better. 8.2 will be good I think.

While I don’t hold him responsible for everything wrong with WoW, I nevertheless find him to be insufferable.

Between the double-speak, casual disregard for the player base, and his general arrogance, he really needs to up and leave. His departure wouldn’t magically fix WoW, but it’d be a start.

The captain of the TItanic was also standing strong

The man wanted to remove flying. That alone speaks volumes.

Yes and no.

Yes because shipping the expansion before it was done is unlikely to be his call. The company’s higher ups probably thought it was a good window of time to ship it and forced it to be their way. So I don’t think he’s fully responsible for the disaster that was BfA’s launch.

No because as the game direction he’s probably handsomely paid for what he does and that includes communicating with the community. He can always resign or ask to be retrograded back to game designer if he doesn’t want to do what he does.

Why would anyone feel sorry for him all he does is sarcastically comment about how they’ve heard there’s problems almost in a form of taunt to the players. Guy needs to be exited stage left imo

Maybe a little. But I think you’d find the negative feedback doesn’t hurt him as much as you think. He leads a whole creative team. It’s not his own personal art project. The things they come up with for the game would go through many levels of feedback and approval. If things don’t go over well they become statistics which will just go into the list of considerations when coming up with future plans. As long as the game is still profitable and getting signed off for ongoing content then I think Ion is ok.

Still, kudos for showing concern. I think that’s just a nice thing to see on these forums.

Probably a reason why Blizzard doesnt post much on the forums.

‘Ill pass on your concerns’
‘i dont have anything to say about that’

1 blue post in 1 class forum oh joy.

No not really. He 100% reminds me of press secretary Sarah Sanders. At this point i’ll take Charlie Browns teacher. At least I could understand her !

I am confused what’s happened with Ion, you make it sound like his lost his job or something like that?

What’s going on?

Nothing new. The OP just started to feel sorry for Ion. It’s so sad, he works so hard to keep this small indie company afloat. Players just don’t appreciate all he does for us.

Well I have been somewhat concerned about the mental health of some of the people higher up in society tbh…

For a long time it’s been hard have empathy when you’re down here, and others are up there…but now I’m beginning to realize that we are all human.

Sorry no.

He’s game director, that’s his job. He chose it, it’s not like he was forced into the position.
He may have a vision for WoW, but if he can’t deliver it without seeming aloof to the valid concerns of the players, then he doesn’t deserve the position.
Almost everytime I see a Q&A or him at Blizzcon…he seems very apathetic, it’s almost like I’m waiting for him to say “Bueller, Bueller”

Hell even Morhaime who seemed a little disconnected was more enthusiastic; and I won’t even compare him to Metzen.
