Just for some background I am undergeared I just hit 70 today and I’m only 391 pvp ilevel. I notice how random bgs feel. Like I had a game where we spawn camped, then got spawn camped, my own faction losing 3 in a row to swapping to ally and seeing no difference. I am normally on the first scroll page for dps overall so I know I’m not just afking, what’s the issue that causes this? Are they pre-made groups just playing to screw with randoms? If so why are they allowed to q into a team of randoms if they are all grouped up, and secondly what’s with all these monsters I am seeing with near full conq gear in random bgs wtf? Man, last xpac felt way easier to gear up my toons tbh. Not sure why it feels like such a chore, gotta spend hours doing bgs since its completely luck based. Pain and suffering
(update 1) just went from being spawn camped one game to swapping factions. I then got a game that was backfilled with a score of their team 1k ours 500. So fun and engaging.
Spawn camping went through the roof when classes became more independent and self sufficient. Not to say it didnt happen before. But now that theres no resource expiring, and classes can all self heal. It really extends how efficiently they can spawn camp. Its been getting worse not better.
What im trying to get at is this isnt new unfortunately.
Id say spawn camp really kicked off in Cataclysm and MoP.
Its systemic now.
Yeah I’d love if they fixed bgs too. I’m sick of going against a premade, when I am just trying to have some fun in random bgs. Last game I played we got spawn camped and didn’t even respawn so they would end. Waited 10 mins for that game too. I legit trinketed got insta cc’d and 4 people instantly killed me before the stun was over, actually insane. Like this isn’t arena, it’s not even a rbg…can’t find fun in those situations ngl
This is still going to happen if there aren’t premades.
If your solution is everyone has to get worse so you can have fun then you’re doing competitive content wrong, especially in an mmo.
Get better so you can have fun and group with some friends so you have reliable teammates.
my win rate for my horde toons is about 50/50, just like my alliance toon. some BG’s favor one faction over the other for unfathomable reasons, for instance horde win ab more and alliance win eye more.
some days I win all my bgs, some days i lose them. it will average out over time
if you did battle grounds while leveling from 60-70 you should have enough honor at 70 to buy most of your gear.
lol what. i just want a solo q option not everyone has people they can play with or even a guild. saying I want a solo q option doesn’t mean i want everyone to be worse. Also technically it isn’t competitive, pvp is competitive but it isnt ranked. i want my causual pvp experience to not be dictated by if we get lucky by also going against a random team when we’re on a random team
yeah i know I just finished getting my full set of honor gear yesterday. wont matter much if you go against a team that’s coordinating kill targets meanwhile your team isnt working together well because there are no comms

Depending on the BG, it’s sometimes in the teams best interest to “Spawn Camp”
If we can corner the enemy team to their GY and hold them there so that our FC can run flags unhindered, then it makes sense. If I can 3 cap or 5 cap, then yes we are going to hold you to your GY until the game runs out. However, GY camping for the sake of GY camping just seems cruel.
Just wanted to point this out, since there is a very large difference between strategy and cruelty but it is still a fine line.

If your experience of farming 80k honor, rating, covenant renown, soul ash, cinder, flux, conduits on each alt while undergeared was an easier time than doing 3 hours of bgs and a wquest to tag an npc for a free weapon then idk what’s wrong with you
