Anyone else EXCITED that we get nothing new for at least a year as western players? /s

Nothing about this quote points towards a new game whatsoever.

You are spawning this out of your mind with no logical basis to do so.

“longevity of classic” could mean literally anything, including what china is getting or even WOD classic

The fact that we are at MOP and they just said today that chinas WOW and MOP are the main focus for the classic team should be enough to realize that what they said could mean just that.

Hell, SOD could have shown them that their “idea” of a new game doesnt work, so they go a different route for longevity. But if you acually just read that paragraph a few times absent of bias, youll understand it really means nothing about a new game.

Their idea of longevity could literally just be repeat expansions on a loop like we see now. Who knows.

Well, I’ve got some nice green American money to give them if they would just re-enable paid server transfers on Era.

Yep.

That could mean in Anniv TBC we get…heroic+/mythic knockoff.

Sod had that. change up some dungeons and crap.

Other QOL could come in. remembering wrath to cata classic saw tmog come sooner, and in the format that is actually modern retail format. For good and bad, I liked most of that.

BUt…its really messed up the one class that can mog Illidan glaives is currently serving out life sentences in cryostasis in the broken isles…

Wrath…was + kind of.

Cata…was + kind of

MoP with lfr removed and replaced…I’d call that kind of + too. If some choose not be there, that be a personal call really.

How would someone in North America get a Chinese WoW account?

Asking for a friend.

You need a chinese ID or you just need to have a friend from china get you an acc

My friend is going to play there using that method from a friend he has from pserver

If like eve…vpn some way through the great (fire)wall of china, install cliens and find a mmo pay service that won’t mind your foreign money.
Lots of mmo’s in asia work off local pay services.

many of them suck though. the japanese options are kind of sad. Korean ones ain’t better from what I hear.

I knew lots of people bored who fired up eve’s china client back in the day.

Sometimes you will even get english in chats there I am told. not even toxic. Or a level of toxic they were used to anyway. Ive been the american playing in OCE for years.

OCE people are used to catching crap from US people…china would really have to step up games really to ruffle feathers lol.

Worse than that they confirmed all classic realms including ERA would be shutdown by end of next year in NA/EU.

We (US players) don’t need SoD 2 before we get TBC Era and WoTLK Era.

Basically.

some stuff is not even selling me off the bat. level 80 but era and tbc raids may be current one item…

Umm, yeah, this is the classic team. it probably not be that grand.

they seem to not ask retail for help/ideas. They’ve been here. A lot.

Welcome to tw weeks. what happens when you run run BT as retail level cap in TW adjusted to level cap raid?

if your team is not paint huffers, a smooth run. Its not a wall to wall, mob to mob code redo here.

even with a larger staff they can’t rebalance the place to have even mythic raiders go damn that was a workout. Raid team is working on retail raid more. TW raid is basic pass overs of changes.

Classic team…will have this and wod raid to look in next year. Looking at HFC and archemonde here hard. We have some andies who didn’t bail in cata then kung-fu panda gate stayng this time.

Wod HFC will be learning curves for some. or cries for nerfs

In 2026, Anniversary Fresh transitions to Anniversary TBC. When Anniversary TBC is ready to transition to Anniversary WoTLK (assuming that’s the unannounced plan), TBC Era becomes an option. Whatever happens after Anniversary WoTLK (if anything – I dont care about anything after WoTLK), WoTLK Era becomes an option -or- Anniversary WoTLK just becomes WoTLK Era.

This plan would be approximately 24-36 months of ‘maintenance mode’ allowing the Classic Dev team (such as it is) to focus resource on Chinese Titanforged SoD (and/or whatever may come after that).

My theory was that Aggrend was MIA because he’s in the trenches getting Classic+ ready for Blizzcon.

Today that theory was shattered, as it’s more likely that he got shipped off to work on the Chinese Classic+ and that’s why he’s gone.

Honestly I think it’s hilarious that the Classic+ dream just got completely dispelled today lol. A lot of people had to come face to face with how unimportant they are as customers.

A lot of people did think this yes, but there really was no evidence there was a new game being made

Everyone saw “stay tuned for more classic content to come!” And took it as a new game instead of what it actually means, which could be anything from MOP to WOD, Another season of x, or China SOD

People gotta understand that blizzard may very well think they don’t even need to make a brand new classic game. I mean look at how many people stay subbed perpetually just to play old content with a few minor tweaks. What reason do they have to spend a monumental amount of resources for a new game when everyone still subbed anyways?

I was just spitballing in the absence of information.

Thankfully I’m not hooked on the idea of Classic+ like a lot are, so the Titanforged snub doesn’t bother me at all. I’ve been addictively preparing for TBC since Anni started.

Anyone that thinks that pserver suit= they are making classic+ is a fool. They are suing because private servers are offering a new product while blizzard intends to not do so. They want to trap western classic players on dead servers while keeping their sub money.

Oh yeah for sure, classic+ is always an interesting topic

I am playing one now.

Classic+ is just a modded version of wow, people put a lot of weight on the term when that’s all it is. A game with mods.

And because of the nature of modded games, there is never one version that’s “the best” and if you ask me I think blizzard knows this and might even be WISE to completely dodge making one

Wowhead article here:

They correlate this with nostalrius and this situation is not only different but it’s not even remotely relatable

Yeah see it doesn’t help that wowhead throws out

“Does this mean classic+ is coming!?!?”

When there is zero evidence at all that it is, and in fact they even confirm this themselves in the interview

They’re being professional/proper by not ripping the bandaid off

They clearly tell everyone what the classic team is doing full time for the next year

It is MOP and titanforge

There is nothing else in between without making it up in our own heads. It would be unprofessional to say “we aren’t making the game you think we’re making”. So instead they tell you what the team is doing “for a whole year”

After that year people can ask what’s next but for now the question is clearly answered

Dont blame them for abandoning the Western classic market. It’s actually so cooked and relies half on streamer hype, I’m not even kidding it feels like half this community just waits to see what Xaryu does and then you got the typical classic player stereotypes as well. It’s unfortunate.

Yeah it’s appeal to 250k in the US or 8 million players in China whose gaming culture revolves around spending a ton of money on cash shops

They ain’t making a new game for a bunch of cookout eating boomers who don’t spend money and stay subbed regardless of how boring the game state is in
