I have all but given up, I log on to play the AH, then log off and play something else, i have zero interest in doing anything else, and no idea why, in SL it was because it sucked, I think now its just not the same game, I actually enjoy forums more than the actual game right now, its sad, and yes professions was the first straw.

I agree. I decided I’m better off selling my ores and other mats, and using the gold to buy something I really want. In the end its a better pay off.
i wanna get into crafting again for the sake of making some of the fun items but having trouble getting motivated in this formerly great game. Shadow of its former self, really.

What about the person’s time for gathering materials, leveling their crafting skills and the rep grind needed for making the item? Is that invalidated because “it’s just a push of a button”?

I’m a bit salty about engi too. 
I only leveled alchemy for the 2 hour flasks. I don’t do any professions otherwise
Yep. Seemingly if you didnt get in early and do degenerate amounts of rep chaining with alts to catapult your main to max renown and lock the recipes down early, you’re already too late.
Add in no catch up for perks, no respecs, and a system that harshly penalizes you for not thoroughly researching your specialization choices and you have the giant L that is the crafting overhaul. Worst part, there are even more issues than what ive stated.
On my server unless you’re a cutting edge crafter advertising their services in trade all day your likelihood of making an income that justifies your time spent is exceedingly low. Damn near everything but top of the line R4-5 crafts are selling for a loss.
Obligatory Engineering mention – Blizzard’s implementation of Engineering in DF is a resounding failure in every way imaginable. Someone got paid to design this and we are all worse off for it.

Crafting lol. Crafting died many xpacs ago
The profession revamp ruined professions.
They became a grindy chore now, I’m not even bothering with it anymore.

I’m honestly trying to do something with engineering but it’s just so frustrating. I don’t think I spent my knowledge correctly, but I couldn’t really figure out how to spend it at the time…or what the little gadgets you drop in the top are supposed to do…or which one do I need. I feel like none of this was really tested very well.
Also I’ve never seen anything in the orders tab. I guess there are other professions that get orders, but engineering isn’t one of them.

I guess the main problem with crafting that had coming down from a long time is when it changed to be only something that “made gold”.
Like those NFT games that never work because everyone who joins them want to make money, but for money to be made, value has to be given.
I’m gonna drop Alchemy and just get skinning. At least that way I can actually get to 100 profession…

The only profession you can make money with anyway is ENG or ENCH if you spec strategically. Even the gathering professions, the time-honored “money makers” are useless now. Is Blizzard FORCING us to buy gold???
2 hour CD random destination teleport consistently beat out 10 times out of 10 by a 15m CD hearthstone that lets you divebomb to anywhere on the map.
Dumping points into it is a noob trap that only magnifies the L.
Every opportunity that presents itself im shouting from the high heavens how god awful Engineering is in DF.

When i can cross the entire zone in less than 2 minutes, a 15 min CD that drops me ANYWHERE in the content is better than a useless 2 hour CD that nearly forces me to use my hearthstone for the content,…which is THE reason I took engineering…so I could get TO the content a few times an hour based on a list of more recent wormholes with a 15 min CD that is actually useful…and use my hearthstone for more useful things like getting back to random parts of the entire game world to farm stuff Im currently farming.
This trash wyrmhole and even its hour CD is useless garbage for MY game.
What, the specialization perk where you set off a fireflight 
for freee when you make one didn’t tempt you??

omg…lol…some of those ‘perks’ in there just have to be a running joke at blizzard. I cant see the thinking some of that crap would entice me to level some of the specs up. lol
