I’m pulling my hair out trying to get the Earthen unlocked, and I’m not going through wowhead quests for each story on the MSQ. I’ve run out of shield-quests so I’m now trying to figure out where I went wrong.
If I look at the achievement [The War Within]
On “The Machines March to War” I’m seeing what the final quest is/was and I’m like 99.99% certain I did it last night. But I’m not getting credit for it. Wowhead tells me I did it, but I recall that not being super accurate.
I’m at the point where I have to assume something is bugged. I’m going to check in on the final storyline “A light in the dark” here in a second when Wowhead stops crashing.
this tripped me up too, there’s 3 quests that don’t have shield. they’re literally just random quests, but they do say they’re part of unlocking them in the quest text.
look up the individual texts in the achievement, and go find them. 2 of them are longish, one you literally just find some guys tools lol
well, i tried to use wowhead, but it frose my entire computer for like 5 minutes as soon as i opened it, and i had to shut down my computer. lol
I don’t remember the quests you mentioned just from their name, but in your quest log you should be able to see which chapter of the main campaign you’re on, and where to pick up the next quest above all of your quests, if your on the main campaign quests.
remember you also need to do 3 side quest chains, not just the main story to unlock the earthen.
the first one starts with a quest called “How Scandalous” in Dornoggal. you get it from Aldra. (62.80, 21.82)
you start the other in Gundargaz, you can get it from Machinist Kittrin, the questchain starts with “Discared and Broken” (48.24, 33.44)
and the last one starts just outside of Dornogal, with a quest called “Before i depart” you can get it from Korgran at Fallside Outpost (57.45, 43.02). he took a second to load in for me when i went there the first time.
in addition to the coordinates i provided, you can see all of the required quests on your map (but not every quest on the map is required)
i still don’t remember them, but that wasn’t my point. my point was that if you’re missing part of the level 80 war within campaign it should tell you where to go in your quest log.
if you’re missing the “Merrix and Steelvein” step on the Allied Races: Earthen achievement you need
if you’re missing the “Broken Tools” part of the achievement you need
and if you’re missing the “Mourning Rise” part of the achievement you need
this is the start of The Machines March to War
on the right hand side is a list of all quests in the questline.
you can grab the script from this page and check, if it says “true” check the next one, then the next, until you find the first false. then you’ll know where you need to go to resume the questline.
it’s a bit tedious but I don’t know of a better way.
