Anyone else burned out on shadowlands?

I dont know if its just me, but I feel like i’ve already done everything in the current content, and I have even geared several alts as well… It is getting harder to make myself log in to play.

You are not alone. It’s getting harder and harder for me to log in.

I mean yeah if you did all the content already and geared your alts then it’s kinda normal.

If leveling wasn’t so painful I’d love to be leveling an alt.

A lot of players are gone already (most likley the ones returning every expansion for one patch, and some because of customization).

I’ve done as much as i am willing to do, as cool as the different covenant (and class hall stuff in the past) is, for someone like me who isn’t really into alts, it’s all wasted content. I just like my main character, in the past i had alts as profession mules, armies of Xmute masters but that’s all ruined now.

All i really do these days is my daily calling and maybe a heroic clear and M+ on the weekend, in terms of raw /played time, this is probably my lowest expansion to date (other than WoD because that made me quit lol).

I haven’t been logging in much lately either. I don’t think that’s abnormal though. We’re over three months in now, my to do list is usually always done by now. And I dragged it out slowly too. Every patch reaches a downtime point where you just “finish it,” it’s totally normal and ok to take a break!

Normally I’d fill it in with alt leveling, but eh…I don’t know. My interest in that has gotten lower every expansion for various reasons. I wish I could re-spark it again. :woman_shrugging:

It’s so bad I’ve started turning into Magni… “Mall walker I neeeeeeed ANIMA! We must heal Ardenweald’s WOOONZ!!”

Yes I am very burned out already with shadowlands and the toilet called the maw so bad I only log on my 60 maybe once a week to do stuff. But the good thing is I found a class I really like which is my Destruction Warlock here so have been spending more time leveling them.

I know more then half my guild is burnt out…the majority s that left said they my be back for 9.1

I pulled my sub. Runs out in 10 days

I’ve cut my hours back quite a bit. My friends no longer log in, well one does, but she’s still lvl 51 on her 1st SL toon after many moons, so clearly she’s having a blast…

I do enjoy my time mostly, but it’s just not much.

They made SL a huge time sink, more grind than game and it’s taken it’s toll on the community.

Can’t tell you how many posts I’ve seen starting out with “Maybe I’m just burnt out?”

It’s the way they’ve designed the game now, built to keep you running that clock and little else.

It occurred to me that I may be unhappy with things when I was doing the “Spider on the wall” quest in Maldraxxus a bit ago.

Spending 5 mins stealthed and with your speed reduced to walk to pick pocket NPC’s that are miles away from where you start, just made me mad today and I did the quest and I’ve been AFK since lol.

Decided I’d make a coffee, which I don’t do normally this late but whatever, I still have the big quest in Revendreth to do…I guess I should go get that done…

What do you find painful about it? This leveling experience seems to be one of the most quick and easy in the history of WoW.

yep. bored out of my mind zzZ

my tips for you is try other aspecs of the games

if you pve try to pvp with other class and role ( the other class part is important)

it worked for me i hope it works for you : )

Well, like many others I used PVP to level my toons at the beginning… easiest way to get gear in my opinion… free loot, after the 4th alt it gets a bit old. So does running the same 8 dungeons. Blizzard really should release new dungeons more often! They should release new content weekly or at least every other week, they sure take enough money to do it.

just how much do you play?
no game is made so you play that many hours and still feel fresh

I have been playing wow for over 15 years, since Vanilla . I am a coffee player, i get up drink coffee and play wow every morning, then I raid 2 -4 days a week. I do not play 10 hours a day… few hrs if I can keep busy. Doing dailys is not really my thing and the lack of raid loot drops makes raiding kind of a poor way to gear up. Since shadowlands came out I have most of my gear from the weekly vault. and thats from Mythics… not so much from raids at all.

I’ve hit my goal of the expansion, and 9.0.5 doesn’t bring anything for me. With the knowledge that 9.1 isn’t likely until May or June at this rate, I have a low amount of motivation to keep logging in. I need to finish helping my friend get KSM, but then outside of Normal raid and Mythic dungeon achievements, I’ll have hit my wall for what I need to do.

I’ve never been particularly gear motivated, so the Valor change means nothing to me. The anima grind is far too long and I’ve all about given up on pushing for it. And my Druid had cleared the content he’s geared for, so I have no drive to try something else. I do have an army of alts I want to work on, but there are so many other games out there that I think I’d prefer to focus on right now.

But that’s not surprising, honestly; this is a long time to go without new content, and with so much gated content from launch people aren’t eagerly diving in to get their 35 anima from doing some really long and tedious world quest. I won’t say Shadowlands is bad, but Blizzard definitely made some bad choices regarding it.
