You’re allowed to play the game any way you like. This doesn’t make you dumb. Everyone will have their own variation on how they get things done and what content they choose to progress.
If anything it makes you smart to play the game the way you want and not the usual meta. Keep playing the way you enjoy it. If you’re burnt out, take a break, you’ll be back to catch up.
FYI, I have 5 60s and did exactly the same thing. I wasn’t sure who I was going to main. I chose my guardian druid and has been nothing but fun fun fun. I probably wont even touch half my alts lol.

For the expansion launch I was pretty much black out drunk and on Xanax so I didn’t remember getting to 60 or even much of the campaign passed the Kyrian intro. It was a lot like that until I was at about ilvl 160 2 days later. I then decided to play an alt through to get an idea of the story. Then another to regrettably try Threads of Fate. Can happily say I am ok to let my sub time dwindle.

Maybe not. I hammered from 50 to 60, mainly because I got into a competitive spirit with my guildies. When I was done, I felt burned out. Still do I guess. So yeah, my dumb.

I’m not calling myself dumb just because I’m doing the same thing as you are! I’m calling myself happy and relaxed because I am not running my head into a wall trying to be a top tier raider and trying to watch 1000 youtube videos, read every bit of Icy Veins and Wowhead, download 8 addons and trying to figure out how they work, etc.etc.etc.

Well don’t do it without story mode. It is like being put somewhere you don’t belong and have to look for scraps for xp.

I have a main that I do the renown and Torghast stuff on but the rest of my alts just run around farming stuff. I think my druid leveled just picking flowers and occasionally killing stuff between me and the flower I wanted to pick.

I once got transformed into a bat during Hallows End trick or treating and thought I could fly from Hellfire to Netherstorm. You cannot fly as a

I don’t have a level cap character either as I stopped playing in Pandaria and only been back a short while.
I’m having fun leveling classes I never played (much) before. This rogue, monk, hunter and demon hunter and working on my druid and shaman that I played before I stopped. And my original class - priest. Also playing some older content that I missed along the way. And working on professions too, which I love doing.
I see some comments on the forums on how the new content is hard or boring and I just don’t understand that. Anything new is new! And it’s not dumb, IMO.

Only got one to 60, struggling with how hyper focused everything is on following the path. Mostly SlL makes me want to just want to level 1-50 running dungeons, maybe some PvP, and just taking my character into whatever chapter I please (like every other expansion) without feeling like I’m a seaworld dolphin jumping hoops and begging for more mackerel.

You don’t like what I call “endgame”. I’m the same way. And I’ve been this way since 2004. I don’t have a “main”. I’m not a dumb dumb. I just don’t like endgame. At max-level I don’t gear up to a bazillion, farm gear, raid, pvp, or do Mythic dungeons. At max level I start another character at 1.
Hey, it’s fun for me. Especially after the pre-patch, since now I can level in any of the 6 previous expansions.

The old game zones are fun for exploring, old dungeons and areas, mounts, mogs pets…its awesome.
New content is designed for a small group of people that will burn that content up in a few more weeks… everyone else will try to suffer through the new content which they were not the target audience.
Blizzard doesnt know who their audience is so they design the game for competative players and streaners…because thats what they see.
They don’t get that we watch that stuff sure…but thats not how the vast majority of people play…

You’re really not missing out on much right now, as a lot of stuff is time-gated. Shadowlands just doesn’t grab me as much as previous expansions, probably because there is no longer a gearing path for strictly solo players like myself. I find most of the WQs annoying as all get-out, and their rewards are a joke. For the last few days, all I’ve been doing on my only max-level character is logging in, thinking about doing some stuff, deciding said stuff is not worth doing, and logging out.
