Anyone else aggravated that polearms point up when sheathed?

I…don’t really understand why they needed to change this, in Legion. Like, why? Spears pointed downward when you had them on your back, and it looked normal. Now, they point up, and it looks ridiculous, like you’re carying around a flagpole without a flag.

Got protect yourself from those aerial attacks and people that fall on top of you.

On the serious note I kinda of prefer it, at the very least it looks good for my ret pally and her mog.

It depends on the specific staff/polearm. Some point up, some point down. I don’t actually find it that annoying.

I do think that transmog options need to extend to “how do I sheath my weapon?” I know many people hate that any weapons sheath on their backs, when many others would prefer one handed weapons to sheath on their backs instead of their waists. Personally, I hate that my two handed weapons inexplicably spin 180 degrees when I sheath them (the edge that is “down” when I’m holding it still points “down” when I swing it up onto my back? WTF Blizz!?).

Especially since our weapons are sheathed while we’re riding mounts, running around, or doing anything else in this game other than fighting, it’s a shame that we don’t have more control over how we look in that state.

It’s easier to throw a spear in one quick motion if it is pointing up.

Seems kind of dangerous, doesn’t it? Like if you turn around in a crowded area you’ll just stab someone.

I actually don’t mind it really. I think it looks better pointing up because the stylish blade is more visible.

Pointing down makes no sense. Way more chance for you to hurt yourself or others around you.

Pointing up means when you grab your weapon you’ll have to twist your wrist to flip it around, pointing down you just grab and point.

The HWL polearms look absolutely ridiculous on my Fury Warrior with any cosmetic enchant on them

Dont change plz

It’s not all polearms, just some. Depends on the model.

Wait, that annoys you and not the fact you shouldn’t be able to sheath one in the first place?

Nah, its on an open hook, not a closed loop :stuck_out_tongue:

And sticks out about 4 feet over the heads of most races

Honestly, you should never sheathe a polearm. It looks stupid no matter which way it is facing because they’re too big.

You should do like they did historically, carry it. Use it like a walking stick when it’s “sheathed” and then pick it up into your battle stance when in combat.

So yes, it bugs me a bit. haha

Spears are for throwing, not pointing.

The staff I use is transmogged to Relentless Edge, the polearm from Ulduar and I’m like 95% certain it points down.

It’s one of the few, sadly.

Its less annoying than the Battle for Azeroth trailer, where the Alliance Footman literally change which hand they are holding their spear/shield in depending on what the cinematic team was doing with each frame.

Its horribly jarring.

I personally prefer the ones that point downward cause lets face it, you’re reaching up and behind your back where you have no visual guidance.

Who’s to say in the process of trying to unsheath your spear you give your hand the ol razzle dazzle on the spear’s blade?
