So many people hating on questing/leveling. I actually enjoy it. Nothing quite like leveling a new toon in Grizzly Hills… that soundtrack…
Who be hatin on leveling? Leveling is great. Especially on an amour class you haven’t done before. All those new sweet and juicy mogs!
I don’t generally quest, but I BG/DG a lot. Been trying to figure out if there’s a class I enjoy enough I can push rating in SL Season 4. Idk what I’m doing, but I’ve been having fun for a little over a week now.
Literally levelling a Female Gnome Warlock right now. Love me some alts for winding down after a stressful day of healing.
Questing is fun. Leveling is dogtier. I usually combo my leveling with quests I had not done or have mog I do not yet have. Or if I feel impatient I level spam in timewalking (this primarily my way to level alot before SL).
Leveling is great up until Shadowlands.
Also unpopular opinion. Good music does not make a good zone. Grizzly Hills is one of the most overrated zones in WoW. Most of the quest chains are terrible.
Used to until BfA. Leveled all my alliance alts but only two horde alts. The horde zones were just unimpressive and boring. Off all my alts, I have only level two to 60. So many more left behind because I just can’t stand SL.
I enjoy leveling, especially once you know a fast route. I can get 1 - 50 under 6 hours without any xp items.
Having a fast fun route makes it enjoyable. Speedrunning has always been enjoyable for me, maybe it will work for you.
I do!
wiggles toes
I’ve got 2 or 3 of nearly every class now… many of which are level 50+… for the record… I hate spec swapping… so… each character has a set spec and I never change it.
Yea I enjoy levelling Alts… but I hate Torghast -.- I don’t really like ZM. Just forced myself to finish the Questline there with one alt (for the legendary belt ) . Not sure if I will survive this with other char-.-
I almost chose the same way to lvl up … Elwyn Forest > Westfall > Hinterlands > Ashenvale > Felwood sometimes Val’Sharah …
50-60 - Timewalking and Bonus Objectives
I have very little interest in shadowlands endgame anymore. I never really got into torghast in practice although it seems like it should be something I’d enjoy on paper. The mandatory questing at max really turns me off. Only have one character who reached ZM and idk if I care to do any of that place, or korthia (I still don’t have SL flying, although I think I’m close). Professions seem useless to level this late in the game. Idk.
Alting has been fun. I’m trying to get excited about a character enough to justify doing all that annoying stuff you need to do in order to compete. That’s my focus right now.
Sometimes I’ll hop on classic and work on my level 30 shammy. Only classic can scratch that old school mmorpg itch for me when it comes to leveling a new character.
only on tanks and dungeon spam leveling now. idk i used to love questing alot not really anymore it takes everything i got to just level this sham 10 levels when new expansions come questing and i don’t heal.
I enjoy leveling from 1 to 50 but unfortunately the last 10 levels were Shadowlands.
I’m so glad Blizzard reversed the exp nerf to pet battles, DMF and holiday events.
I used to enjoy lvling back in 2004-2010…I just don’t now. Music really doesn’t help with lvling at all on my end, and if i’m being honest I don’t really like any of the classes in game at all anymore. Dunno what happened but what I do know is the classes are boring and not all that different from one another. Call me cynical I guess.
Having experienced Shadowlands burnout, I decided to level an alt. In the past two weeks, I have leveled a shadow priest, an arms warrior, and starting a prot pally.
I had a blast with the arms warrior. The shadow priest didn’t tickle my fancy. I had a mage and an elemental shaman at one point. I’ve determined that I’m not a fan of casting classes / specs.
I enjoy the new Chromie Time leveling. I hated the old leveling systems though and typically avoided alts unless I was really, really bored with end-game and wanted to try something new.
I’ve played off and on since this game launched and had literally never tried playing a Mage until Shadowlands for instance just because I had no interest in leveling previously and if I didn’t know I wanted to play a character I was never willing to invest the time in one.
Being able to play just WoD or Legion from 10-50 is fantastic. WoD, for all its flaws, has the absolute best leveling campaign, and Legion has amazing flavor with its class halls and artifact weapons.
I like leveling in general, up until I get to Shadowlands. Wish Chromie Time would allow you to go all the way to 60 once you have completed the SL story.
I actually don’t enjoy the questing in any of the SL zones, which is odd. There’s usually at least one or two zones per expac I really love, and generally no more than 1 or so I genuinely dislike. I guess Bastion is okay. Maldraxxus is tolerable. But I don’t love any of them.
I like leveling up to SL. SL is – painful. I did manage to get 2-3 toons to every covenant, most the long way. I love the fact that you can shortcut that now, especially toons I’d like to get to level, moderately geared then stop.
Leveling past 50 is just -bleah. I find simple questing in zones I haven’t experienced in a while is just a nice relaxing enjoyable thing. It reinforces my belief that they were simply designed far far better than the current hot mess that is SL.
SL should have been good. There are so many elements in it that are good. But it’s like taking a bunch of great ingredients, throwing them all together in a pot, boiling it to death and expecting it to taste great. It doesn’t.
