Anyone dealing with freezes?

So since the Undermine patch, many people started getting constant freezes that lasted several seconds, could be from 5 to all the way into a full min at times, of the games just freezing.

And this was constant, to the point it could be multiple times per day and daily.

Well i have managed to do up to 5 dungeons (one being TW, the others M+) with no freezes, so i wanted to confirm if anyone that was dealing with this issue is also no longer with it, or im just getting lucky.

It’s the new addon manager.

Sometimes it spikes to 100% CPU usage.

In true Blizzy fashion however, they’ve elected to completely ignore this issue in the hopes of saving face.

lmao.

Constant and consistent are two different words with different meanings.

I was getting 3ish second freezes on boss fights in keys, but hasn’t happened for a couple weeks that I recall. Though I’ve been playing a little bit less too.

Not under my uneducated watch.

I think it’s better now. Whatever was causing it to ramp suddenly seems to have been patched.

Not since late May, I put the plants outside once the threat of freezing was clear.

Constant:

occurring continuously over a period of time.

???

Continuously means it doesn’t stop, at all. Consistent implies that it happens regularly.

I raised a ticket, as this has been so bad on my Mac Pro 2019 that the client freeze - which does happen in boss fights at times, but 100% certain in Sidestreet Sluice delve - locks up the macOS to the point that it either logs me out of my Mac, or forces me to power cycle.
This is bollocks. My actual ticket explains more:

WoW freezing macOS altogether requiring power cycle

There is no other app can crash the macOS itself I know of (Apple/Mac veteran), so this is quite a serious bug. Specifically, whenever I run Sidestreet Sluice (in particular), on any toon, the macOS will freeze at least once. Often 2, 3, 4 times. Usually when at a mini/boss fight. Here is where I’m at:

  1. After some fairly in-depth troubleshooting (can handle a computer reasonably well), I can confirm it’s not add-ons, as it happens with all turned off.
  2. I have cleared every cache file, and done a very deep dive on the macOS to eliminate as many possibilities as I can. It happens even after a clean client install.
  3. I’d like to hear from devs how a corrupt UI file could ever cause the macOS itself to lock up completely until a forced restart is required, as it’s based on FreeBSD/Mach and this is really hard to achieve even if trying.
  4. I’d also like a specialist to have a look and comment on the following system error from the logs, as this is exactly what happens (I can’t see where to upload a screen shot):

(multiple timestamps) World of Warcraft delegate_identifier:Performance Diagnostics__:::__message:This method should not be called on the main thread as it may lead to UI unresponsiveness

  1. Very, very rarely, instead of locking macOS, there is an insta d/c, so again, it seems deeper than a corrupt/outdated add-on or UI config.

Another weird error that pops up is:
World of Warcraft (TextInputUIMacHelper)
Subsystem: com.apple.TextInputUI Category: CursorUI
ViewBridge to RemoteViewService Terminated: Error Domain=com.apple.ViewBridge Code=18 UserInfo={com.apple.ViewBridge.error.hint=this process disconnected remote view controller –– benign unless unexpected, com.apple.ViewBridge.error.description=NSViewBridgeErrorCancelled}

I have no idea if this is related, but it’s nowhere near as frequent as the above one. Anything with a ‘remote view’ flavour is unexpected to me, however. Anything crashing like that is unpleasant either way.

It’s a Xeon based Mac Pro 2019 with 10^15 CPUs, dual Radeon GPUs, 128GB RAM, SSDs etc., so I can be video transcoding, playing HiRes Apple Music, email, web browsing, Photoshop, etc. whatever all at same time, and nothing else has a problem. Just WoW client freezing macOS.

Oh thank god I have a new rig and it has happened now three times. :open_mouth: I mean lol I am sorry your going through this but ya easier to know it is happening elsewhere

Have you tried to un tick the keep me logged in? Re do it then try it, this worked for me.

Giving it a shot. A bit annoying

I thought the same until last night when my game froze, then it went to a black screen and my AMD software crashed mid boss fight.
