Even by contacting said user in private, I’m only putting it out there 'cause it’d be one thing the WoW fam can do for the player as they are from what was said to have been put into hospice care.
@kaivax or anyone can see this msg?
I know it’s against ToS to try to get Blizzard’s attention so apologies
Aw, that is actually a really sad post. When I first saw this post on the new page, I just ignored it thinking it was a “blank you blizzard!!! i quit” but after you brought this post to my attention, that is actually quite a sad post. It really made me open my eyes, and realize that I should be grateful for the life I am living, and for the possible years, days, and months, I have ahead of me. That is a really kind idea you have, but then again though there is a Public Test Realm he can try out, I haven’t really played the PTR so I’m not too sure what it contains.
Yeah it’s understandable when people read just the title… and it definitely hit me regarding how life can be. I do hope Blizzard can at least consider it and contact them privately at the very least… I tried contacting a few bigger streamers and a few big wow guilds also while explaining the situation and directing them to the thread.
It’s nothing that can shift things for that person but it can be a nice moment to experience something they wanted with whatever short time they have left potentially.
Anyone at Blizzard HQ able to react, like geez a beta key isn’t something sacred but would help make someone terminally ill feel somewhat better in a way.
New to WoW but love seeing this in the community. I agree and support this as well. May his final days be filled with all life has to offer, in any capacity we are able to assist.
Unfortunately, this is why Blizzard really only does this with organizations like Make A Wish.
People will absolutely fake something like this to get things (Not saying OP is faking. I don’t believe for a second they are), but people suck. If people know that being deathly sick would get them into betas or alphas, they absolutely would do it.
Ya I get it and I knew some people would come at it with ill intent but it is what it is, at least I did what I wanted to do and that is try to help someone, regardless.
But I really am terminally ill; the difference is that I don’t use my illness as an excuse to benefit at the expense of others.
Also, if Blizzard and other companies were to give free things to players based on having a terminal illness there probably would be people who intentionally engage in risky behavior to contract one.
They do give things free to terminally ill people and that is from the make a wish foundation. You goof.
And that OP wasn’t using anything as an excuse, I just wanted to reach out to try to get them a beta key ffs. No need to be a sour human being. Get a grip and grow up.
