Every time I try to stick my own gear into the Recraft Equipment slot, the profession window closes and removes the item from the slot. I tried at different UI scales, and it seems to do it at every scale 
could your addons be another problem

Only thing I use is DBM because my guild requires it for raid, turned it off. Still does it.

No issues here. I have recrafted on 3 dif professions, BS, Tailor, and LW.
I’m also getting this bug. I’m an engineer, are you as well? Interesting to hear that you have tried disabling addons and the bug still happens. I was considering trying this…
It’s been doing this basically all expansion, just before the item would still be in the recraft slot once you reopned the UI, now it’s gone
I had the same issue. Even happened when all of my addons were disable. However, the issue only happens if I try to access the Recraft option from my profession book. If I access the recraft option through a table, like in the major cities, then I can recraft my own equipment.
Edit for clarity: I’m an engineer.
I haven’t had this problem with tailoring, might be an engineering thing.
Pretty poetic for engineering to have a malfunctioning interface.
I just did a recraft on my engineer yesterday; improved her helmet.
The only addon I have is total RP 3.
And here we are near the end of May and this is still a bug. I, too, am an engineer on the offending alt. I tried shutting off every addon and still had the profession screen shut off on choosing what item to recraft. I tried to see if the items needed repairs, but they were good to go. Recraft at the workbench in Valdrakken worked fine, which therefore sucks if I just need to recraft something in Stormwind to have to go back to Valdrakken. Sorry for adding to the misery, but hope I added a little insight.
