Anybody wish Demo could be less zoo?

I kind of wish that the split between one side and the other of Demo was the choice between a few, super strong demons and a mob of weaker ones.

I really like Demo the most of the three Warlocks specs, but sometimes the clutter gets annoying. I wouldn’t mind trading in my imps to replace my Wrathguard with a Ma’nari or something like Novel/TCG Hakkar. A big brute to follow me around, instead of the entourage of imps.

Nope, I really love my army!
The bigger the army, the more awesome it feels!

I wish we could choose between tyrant and zoo or thal Kiel consumption and direct spell damage.

You mean like Diabolist Destro ? :grinning:

I dislike that janky mess. And that just clutters things up more.

I understand but do not agree with your stance. Demonology is great because it summons a horde of demons. I could potentially see a few talents being introduced to merge the imps into empowering your felguard, but you’ll still have to summon additional demons to deal decent damage.

No. Definitely not.

Fun fact, the specific species of demon wrathguards are (apparently) IS man’ari. Why do they look like that then? No idea.

Jokes aside, I get that feeling sometimes too. Though in my case it’s the opposite direction where I want to drop the fel/wrathguard and vilefiend for empowered base demons and dreadstalkers. Hell, don’t even have to empower the dreadstalkers, just give me the option to give them 100% uptime as a choice node against vilefiend and I’d be happy.

I’m trying to get some WoD mounts and a certain rare gave me an idea. Why not a talent that beefs up our Dreadstalkers and replaces them with a single Voidhound?

Yes I wish fel guard would just be a brute force and then have our demonbolt be our other big hitter with HOG being a filler spell to build shards and summon just a few imps

I’ll say it. I’m not a fan of the imps.
Summoning imps just to have them constantly despawn? Imagine Affliction if Agony only sat at max stacks for 10 seconds then dropped back down to 1.

If I’m building an Imp army, I want them to stay for the duration that I’m in combat.

But I know many love the imps and enjoy Implosion, so I just rule Demo as not for me instead of thinking it needs change.

I love the swarm, what I don’t like is pet management. It’s not the clutter that bothers me but the clunkiness. Staying in combat long after it ended and watching everyone else mount up while I walk is silly. Wrath Guard retargeting slow. A lot of my pet management is through macros and micro controlling my pets.

I wish that there were options. So zoo style stays (I am a fan of the army), while giving way to allowing a functional empower stronger demons playstyle.

Which I’m fine with. I’m not saying get rid of zoo entirely, just give us an option to get rid of it.

As much as I like this there’s always going to be a meta with every spec depending on the type of content people run with. And of course that could translate to bigger more powerful pets instead of the smaller ones, but with how important implosion is I don’t see something like that ability or the imps in general being changed outside of raw ST fights. The issue is honestly just how modern WoW has become way too flashy which messes with peoples PC performance.

I wish it was an option. I don’t want to take away from the people who enjoy tons of pets, but I would like to see another playstyle that goes for quality over quantity sac’ing lower rank demons to summon stronger/more powerful ones but at any given time you just have your felguard and one other demon out.

The lower right side being complete garbage gives room for a “zoo-less” Demonology. For example, Immutable Hatred could work something like this.

Immutable Hatered
Hand of Gul’dan no longer summons Wild Imps but instead increases the damage of your primary Felguard by X% per Soul Shard spent. Lasts Y seconds. Multiple application may overlap.

Would obviously require a bit more work than that since all the talents about Wild Imps would no longer work. Not to mention Demonic Tyrant would be quite underwhelming.

I’ve put my Warlock as my C rotation character this xpac in part because I don’t like how 2/3 specs play.

Don’t like the imp army design and not a fan of Malefic Rapture play, so was time to experiment a bit.
