Same here, the same people from these examples still exist, still behave the same way, and we players still experience it today. What matters to me is did I put 20+ mins into finding the group myself or just click a button and engage with the world in the meantime?

I see your point, but most people are too afraid to start their own group, just like they’re too afraid to start an actual conversation. The less social interaction people have to deal with, the happier they’ll be.

You queued as a dps for LFD and waited for 45 minutes on average to over an hour and a half during off peak hours?

i remember on my paladin waiting like 5 seconds as tank 30 seconds as healer and 20 mins up to 30 as dps but a rogue friend easy had 40 minute Qs
people seem to forget LFD WAS NOT a magical thing that gave the dps instant dungeon shenanigans
would it be faster than spamming? if you dont have any friends to play with…it could be a a little faster indeed but they will still wait for a long time , specially if they do not use cross realm, which they shouldn’t

Agreed, but classic players are a special breed. Most are just retail enthusiasts and want to see it go down that route. I’m having an absolute blast without dungeon finder in tbc. It’s nice being able to hold people accountable for their actions, knowing which tanks/dps to avoid and which ones to beg for a group. Can’t wait to experience wotlk this way again.

i think a good in between would be
have it on phase 2 not at launch
no cross realm so each server discord can keep a blacklist track of those players
and yes it will affect dead servers more than others
but lets face it, dead servers are dead and they are not coming back

not having it AT ALL is kind of a bad idea considering it appears that this will be the end of the classic era

You used LFD and got into a heroic and it was Oculus and the tank and healer left instantly leaving the three dps to figure it out?

So then we reque and we got priority on filling the group because the way RDF works, waiting a few seconds for a new tank.

Imagine if your LFG BB Addon tank left, it isnt auto filling its you going back to an hour wait.

Not a RDF only issue. Nothing stops anyone from doing this in a dungeon, infact RDF has restrictions on what people can roll need for.

What about that time when you got into the dungeon and wiped once on the first boss and the tank dropped from the group… and then the healer… and you waited for a half hour for replacements?

You cant wait 30 minutes for a new tank or healer, you get priority if a person leaves…for the 5th time…

I think LFD is garbage, but that being said, I think anyone who says that it is completely bad and had no strong points is being disingenuous I think. It fits much better with the “new” menality of convenience than it does the “old” one. Whehter you like it or not just depends on what kind of player you are.

And this is all relative of course - with WoW being the MMO for casual noobs like myself.

discord server black list, most players doesn’t even know that such thing exist, and who does doesn’t even care about players in it.

not to mention that such black list doesn’t even add people who abuse everything which currently happening in 5man dungeons, if u get removed out of the blue that’s not enough reason to get that leader add’d on black list, if someone needed as offspec item when another wanted it for mainspec, that’s also is no big deal this days
i read about ninja gold/items everyday on trade & it looks like no one care, cus such black list filled with names and no one bother to remember them.

so the discord blacklist you talk about is pretty much useless.
