Honestly i hate this affix. Not because it is harder than Reaping. I like a challenge actually. I hate it because it really feels unfair at time. There’s emissary all over the place. It’s not fun at all.
Some of them prevent us from interrupting mobs casting fear or casting high damage abilities we had to interrupt in previous season. It’s like a middle finger. Hey you got that interrupt ability i heard. Haha! - Nelson.
Some of them force us to do packs we previously skipped. I sold all my invisibility potions the previous season thank you very much. So it’s either a rogue, potions or new route.
Some of them do high damage aoe. You have to burn it or hide. Or course often she is in a place where we can’t hide or with a pack of 4+ mobs. Haha! - Nelson
We pretty much have to relearn all the Mythic+. Relearning is not so bad but honestly it feels cheap as hell. So far despite all having 430+ ilevel we struggle to do 10 keys in time while we did not have much problem the previous season and in Legion (we struggled at 13-14). I guess once we will know where the emissaries are placed (i think there’s 3 possibilities right?) we will be fine but eh!
I think it’s stupid how 9 is easy-peasy Wrath style and then BOOOOMMMMM! in your ****** ****** face Beguiling relearn everything and nope you can’t practice it in lesser keys suffer mouhahahaha hahahahahaha!!! Man really? Who design this?
Tonight in KR 11 at time our healer was pulling 40-50k healing and he was losing the tank cause we could not interrupt. I guess we could have kited the mobs far enough but really what is the fun in that? It’s stupid imo. I was so surprised when i saw there was not 7 emissaries in the mini boss room before the last boss. /s
I don’t remember not having fun doing Mythic+ but right now this is how i feel. The new affix is just not fun. I’m all for hard content but at the end of the day it’s a game and it must be fun.
Nothing will beat the lolepeen of reaping. Probably the best affix ever. I loved pulling 20k dps as healer with just Sunfire.
That said, I enjoy beguiling. Our group runs a wierd comp, and we more often than not have the tools to get by each pull. After that it’s just about optimizing.
Then again, as the group’s lead, I take an hour each week to review the routes in MDT and devise the best line for our specific group.
Well we are middle aged men i wish i would have the time to study the new routes with emissaries but i don’t. I guess we will have to relearn everything but it really feels cheap man. At least if we could practice it with 6-7 alt keys instead of wasting our 11-12 main keys relearning everything. Our KR tonight was highly frustrating. This is a very good week to do KR 10+ (we had a 11 key) for the achievement and we were 11 minutes over …
It’s not well balanced i think. We did a SOTS 11 in time last week and it was easy actually. We also did a TOS 10 in time and it was fairly easy too. There was not much emissaries and they were not bothering at all. But KR tonight man we almost decided to not finish it.
Tides emissaries are probably the easiest to deal with. Either root them and pull the pack or have one of your melee taunt them out and pull them away and 1v1 them while the rest of the group interrupts/kills the main pack. Or if you have a monk, you can ring them out of a pack. There’s all sorts of ways to deal with them.
The only ones that force you to do packs you previously skipped are voids, and it’s all about having burst ST damage to nuke them down. On fortified weeks, hero those packs.
Use immunities when possible, hero if your group is lacking DPS, save cooldowns if you know you’re going to get a void that you can’t LOS.
I personally really like beguiling. It makes you use pieces of your toolkit that you didn’t really even think about before. If you aren’t looking at the dungeon layout for the week and planning a route, I can see where they would seem unfair, but knowing their exact locations and planning for them can make things interesting.
We carried a broken warrior (it was his key) through a +10 WM last night. Even 4 manning, we only lost the timer by a little bit. What cost us? We tried to invisi-sprint across the basement, got seen by a void tucked behind a corner. Impossible to see in time if you don’t know it’s there. To me, between that void in particular and the one near the dog event in FH, I feel like someone at blizzard is intentionally trying to sabotage the most familiar routes this week.
Not a problem if I took a minute to review MDT. My earlier +14 gave us the top/right path, so we didn’t have to cross that void, so I forgot it was there. The +10 gave us the top left, putting us on the other side of the basement. We derped on it and cost this guy his key. (Although, if he hadn’t died 13 times and did the last two bosses naked it might still have worked out.)
The point of my rambling: someone at Blizz is having a laugh, based on the void placement this week. It may be a good thing for the mode as a whole, but it’s gonna catch people napping and burn keys after 2 seasons of using basically the same skips.
I feel like the seasonal affix causing a significant change in how the dungeons are approached is really important in a world where we farm the same dungeons that magically increase their loots power every season.
Without, it would be like instead of getting BoD and Eternal Palace they just retuned Uldir every 6 months…
And the way they have it with voids, if people are failing keys that should be easy, they just take the week off, if that is the intention of these MUPPETS, well success. However, they aren’t doing the game any favors.
