Anybody else attached to their characters?

I have three alts on different servers that I played during legion. I have fond memories with them. I know warbands makes this easier but something about them not being on the same server bothers me. I really only play solo so it truly doesn’t matter. I know I could reroll them but they won’t be the same and feels like a waste when the others are right there. I actually transferred one, there were four, during bfa and it wasn’t worth it. Is anyone else attached to old alts like me?

I’m attached to my first 3 characters: Paladin (my first main), Priest (my first healer) and Druid (whom I’ve mained since MoP).

Every other class is fine but I don’t have any emotional attachment to them, no matter how fun I find them.

Considering I like Roleplay I consider myself pretty attached to all my characters.

I have basically 0 attachment to any character, even the long-time ones.

I deleted the first toons I ever made. I deleted my first long-term main. I deleted my 2nd long-term main (and it’s since been lost to the void because the level squish pushed it under the threshold of staying in the restoration menu). I transferred all of my relevant characters off my original realm. I deleted all of those characters. I now have a whole new set.

Attached to a certain extent yeah, at least some of em. If/when i permanently move on from the game for one reason or another, it’s not like i’ll have a void inside me though.

I have a character with almost a year of time played on them that is currently a level 32 on my OG server after level squishes.

So, no, not at all.

I’m attached to my mage primary, my longest lived toon. All the others either support him through tradeskills and gold pooling.

I used to be attached to my first char, a paladin, I was all about completionism at that point and I wanted all of the things on a single character.
I retired it in BFA and now I play a bunch of characters.

If I got a notice to say the servers exploded and all character data had been lost, I’d be in shock I think.

I like all my characters, and have to admit I’m somewhat “attached.” I regularly play only a handful of them (I’m an altoholic with two accounts) but I never leave any behind permanently. Currently all of them are coming out to answer the lore questions for the anniversary.

Just this one. If I lost her somehow to another data loss incident that’d be the end of WoW for me. Even with just about everything being account-wide at this point and having alts for various reasons, this is the only character that really links me to the game.

I still have some of my earliest characters. Two of them are 18 years old which makes them legally adults which is actually insane. They grow up so fast.

Honestly though?

I dunno man. Shock for a few days. Then relief for the rest of your life? This could be like the same feeling you get when you get out of an ice bath.

I wouldn’t say its attachment as much as investment for me. I’ve mained 4 classes over my time with the game. The rogue is just the one I’ve stuck with.

The demon hunter I mained for all of legion only exists still because I managed to snag the Sandstone Drake plan in a single jar. I very much so wish to delete it otherwise.

I could delete my monk and DK I mained in a heartbeat. And if something more fun than Outlaw happened along, my Rogue would easily be on the chopping block as well.

I was, but it’s certainly faded of late.

I am attached to some of them, others not really.

My very first character I deleted, didn’t like the class. But my second one is still around, she is a Ret Pally, I still player her a lot.

Right now though I have my very, very favorite Dracthyr. I am quite attached to most of them. lol A few I just rolled to have some low level easy content to do when I’m basically too tired to play. Those I’m not attached to. They come and go.

My Dracthyr Warrior, Arcane, Fire and Frost mages I’m very attached to. Also 3 of my Evokers.

And I do have some old alts I can’t delete. I log onto them every once in a while and play for a little bit. A Druid, well a couple of Druids I don’t play right now as I don’t enjoy the class at this time really. But I am no way going to delete them! lol

A few others as well. So yes, I do get attached to some of my characters.

Not in the way I am to my Warrior of Light in FFXIV, but yeah I suppose I’ve grown attached to Snowpine.

Yeah. I grow attached to characters I’ve had a long time and/or play a lot, especially my first 4. My mage, DK, pally and this guy. I don’t really play my DK anymore, but I don’t have the heart to delete him.

My oldest character is a feral/guardian druid I made in 2008 during TBC when I first started playing. I level them first in any new expansion and keep them geared up. I invested a lot of time into them. I’m scared to do a /played on them honestly.

I can’t seem to bring myself to put any serious amount of time into other characters, they just feel wrong. Playing this character is like putting on my favorite pair of old jeans
