I have 2000 flight stones and all the gear I have is bumped. Is there any way to “spend down” my extras? Otherwise I seem to be discarding 10-75 stones every time I do a quest until I get more crests or gear.
No. Either spend them on upgrades or hold quest turnins until you are below cap.
Flightstones have been the grindy bit of upgrading on my main and the discount across account per slot feels amazing due to not having to do the same grind again.
I feel they could increase the cap to 3k though, other than that i love this new system.

Anyone who actually plays the game is going to be capped on flightstones all the time. Just treat it like the unlimited resource that it is.
I kind of suspected as much. Thanks for confirming, I just wanted to make sure.
