Any way to disable the XP boost?

My girlfriend and I got back into WoW recently after years away - 5 for her, 10 for me. And we like questing and exploration, doing the stuff together. And I’m just gonna be upfront with an opinion that, based on the articles I’ve seen, will be unpopular: I don’t like the XP boost, and I was looking forward to it ending on 4/20.

Since it’s now apparently extended until 2021 (or whenever SL actually drops), I’d like to know if there’s any way to disable it. Kinda don’t want to hear opinions on this; I’m not bashing anyone who does want the XP boost to continue. I just don’t want it, and would like to not use it if possible.

TIA

No there isn’t.

You can straight turn XP off. But diminishing it, no. There is no way to do that.

Probably SOL on that my dude.

There’s also nothing preventing you from just completing the quests you want to complete.

Nope. It’s there permanently. Best you can do is just outlevel everything and continue as normal. Don’t move onto the next phase content, most things stop at 3 levels above its max so at level 63 everything Vanilla gives trivial to no exp.

Thanks all. Kinda what I figured, but I appreciate the good responses. Cheers!

Turn off your experience if it’s a massive issue to yourself.

The content scales to a capped amount based on the expansion anyways.

Only other suggestion would be not to use heirlooms or once you reach expansions max level turn off exp gains so you can continue your adventuring without the concern of going over level.

You could just keep questing and exploring after out leveling areas. You could also turn off your xp gain after hitting the highest level of an area.

Ah i see, well anyways the exp buff was a practice for how fast levelling would be in Shadowlands, and if they don’t think its OP then I guess its fine being new norm

Incorrect. Blizz extended it until Shadowlands pre-patch

You can just disable your xp period. So if you want to do an entire area, you can go visit the rogue in sw keep and turn off your xp for awhile.

With the difference that, in SL we will be able to select witch area I wanna level in. This boost is becoming a great issue for me too. I wanted to level (not just stay st the same level while doing the quests) calmly and never change of continent until I’m tired, but with this boost I get to 60 in 2 areas of Kalimdor and the xp rewards starts to get to little for leveling + mobs to easy to kill. It’s really annoying to some players.
It’s amazing how blizzard takes of things or add forcefully things that could just be optional.
