Any way to check faction balance per server?

Any way to check faction balance per server?
(For retail I mean.)

I’m currently looking at
www.wowprogress. com/realms/rank/us/lang.en

But I heard Blizzard removed these sites ability to check realm population a while ago. So I’m wondering if there is one still working with current population and faction balance.

In case there isn’t, does anyone know how old and/or reliable these old tables still are? As in… for example Bleeding Hollow and Thrall used to be majorly Horde, and so should it still be the case?

There are 3 issues here.

  1. Raw pop numbers.
  2. Faction participation.
  3. Scuttlebutt.

Number 1 can be quasi-gleaned by googling “wow pop”. There are several sites with server pop breakdowns. Not entirely accurate obviously due to blizz but certainly good enough.

Number 2 is a little trickier. You’re on the right track with wowprogress. You can also lookup raiderio stats etc. This will give you a rough overview on how thing are looking progression wise.

Then there’s scuttlebutt. E.g. For oceanic,.all alliance is basically on Frosmourne. I forget the horde server. For US there’s a lot more servers but they follow a similar pattern of faction dominated servers. There’s very few evenly balanced ones. I think Dalaran is relatively balanced still. Not sure about others.

Also final thing to note is server connections. Blizz has recently linked a whole bunch of low pop servers to try to salvage their respective playerbase. So you may find your chosen server is linked with like 1-3 others.

Cool. Thanks for the info!

I noticed wowprogress still lists realms as PvE or PvP. This is completely gone now with warmode, right?

Yes. There are no more PvP servers. Only normal and rp servers. Both of which have the warmode switch should you choose to partake.
