long story short, I have an unrealistic fear of snakes. There are certain parts of the game I stay away from, I’m just getting tired of getting blasted in the face by the Sethrak snake on the load screen every time. All I wanna do is change it to something else, idc what, or make it a black screen or wow logo or something. I try not to look at it, but when I do, it really bothers me.

Eh you could once upon a time mess with the mpq files to change loading screens and music, I used to have my Hellfire music as Legend of Zelda music, I think the Clocktown Theme from Majora’s Mask. However editing game files is a big no-no so I don’t advise doing this.
Past that, not really sure. Though I would say you might be being a bit irrational and exaggerated in your dislike of snakes. I say this as someone who has been stricken with trauma from childhood from snakes but I don’t go to the lengths of outright avoiding zones.
I’d love this feature. Compared to Blizzard’s load screen art in the past, that snake looks so weird and cartoonish…and please don’t get me started on the horrid load screen art when zoning into Ogrimmar or TB.
Like I said, it is irrational. I get it that you think I’m exagerating, but I’m not. It is a legit fear. I can’t eat after seeing one in real life, sometimes lasting up to a day or 2. I’m fully aware this sounds overly dramatic and ridiculous. Unfortunately it’s not. =(

Oh no, I wasn’t saying you were exaggerating. I was saying the fear kind of sounded exaggerated, in that it’s a like more impactful than it reasonably should. I understand phobias don’t worry and that wasn’t meant as a jab at you. I probably could have clarified that better.
And yeah, don’t worry. I used to tense up going to timeless isle seeing the large snakes. Absolutely hate them.

Unfortunately I don’t think you can change the loading screens. That must be horrible though. Maybe just close your eyes and look away while it’s loading?
Personally I’m afraid of heights, and falling from pretty high places in-game is terrifying and it hurts physically.

Sadly from what I’ve found you can’t change the loading screens with addons because the Lua API isn’t loaded until after the game/UI is loaded and all an addon could do is put a screen spanning image across the screen after it loaded that and altering them through other means is against the TOS/EULA .
I might be wrong but thats all I could find sorry bud
I know it’s horrible, but I really want Alliance to get Sethrak now just because of your fear

Hmmm, I know ui stuff can just be dumped in the interface folder and as long as it has the right name, it’ll work, but from what other people have said, it wouldn’t. I still might try though.

I just walk out of the room. Grab a cool drink. I also have known people that snakes freak em out, in fact my next door neighbor is terrified of them.
Get a better computer and you won’t see load screens long enough to matter.
