I’m currently level 23, running the Arms bleed build, and I am…very much unimpressed. It takes all of my concentration just to fight mobs at my level, and even then if they dodge enough I still lose. I’m planning to swap to dual wield once I get SMF, and I’ve got a couple of solid one-handers in my bags now, so I’m thinking about just going ahead and changing now, but with the cost of talent swapping so early on I have concerns about changing to a build that’s just going to make the last 2 levels even harder
Whatever you play warrior wise is gonna be a slog from 1 to 60. Always has been. But once you get gear at 60 you become a god
That’s the rub though, isn’t it? The level cap isn’t 60, it’s 25. Classes should be balanced around 25. Any class that’s too strong at 60 can and should be nerfed when level 60 becomes a thing, not told to “just wait” for level 60 to become a factor in the first place
in vanilla you’d be right. but this isn’t vanilla. it’s season of discovery
you’re speculating that warrior will be good at 60. based on what exactly? 1-25 on SoD is the complete opposite. like i said, this isn’t vanilla. you have no idea what’s in store in terms of runes or even rage normalization if they choose to go down that path
if the current trend continues, which it very well might, warriors will be the weakest class at 60
Dodge is the best thing that can happen for an arms warrior you get a free overpower crit.
its not balanced at all for 25 level cap and i guarantee you it won’t be at 60. the SoD mantra is “pures get a little love, hybrids get the kitchen sink and more”
This is just normal warrior life.
A warrior is only as good as his weapon is, the epic sword from BFD has about 30-31 DPS which is huge at 25, you’ll have to compete with a million paladins I’m sure if you rolled alliance but with a weapon like that you’ll mince lvl 20-25 enemies easily enough.
Curiously enough our group made it through with only one Paladin on the list. Although if I did stick with dual wield it wouldn’t make a difference lol. I believe our other Warrior is planning to stick with Arms though so it’ll be all theirs to fight over
You could be right but im gonna X to doubt extremely hardcore. They are broke at 60 and some of the runes they have now will only futher that. I’ll save this thread so when the time comes you can make me eat my words or I can say I told ya so
implying i’ll be sticking around long enough to remember what mekali said but you do you famalam
So I bit the bullet and went ahead and swapped. The damage feels largely similar, though I haven’t gone back to questing yet as I spent all night doing other things. Got the stuff needed to get Raging Blow (and a nice Skeletal Club on the way up to Gath’ilzogg, it was meant to be). Ran all the way up north for a SFK run, overall the damage felt fairly competitive. On a good aoe pull I usually had a pretty sizeable lead over the others, but on single-target it was pretty mid. The burst from Consumed by Rage is real nutty
I’m heading back to Ashenvale now, I’ll report back how things feel on the solo side of things. Overall so far I think it might actually not be too bad, especially once I get SMF
Edit: I’m not gonna lie guys…this actually feels really good. I think I might’ve found some secret sauce
5/5 Cruelty
5/5 Unbridled Wrath
3/3 Improved Cleave
2/5 Improved Battle Shout
Last 5 points move around as needed, Improved Cleave is basically useless for solo questing. For runes, I’m using Raging Blow, Consumed by Rage, and Victory Rush. Charge in and pop Bloodrage, this gives 2 uses of Raging Blow before the effect ends. Pool your rage until you hit 80 to activate Consumed by Rage - since this is an Enrage effect, it procs Raging Blow again. From here, use Heroic Strike to dip below 80, then back up again to refresh Consumed by Rage. Using this combination I’ve gone from having to eat after every single mob to being able to go up to 4 to 5 in a row without stopping
