Any Tips for AV?

There are elites in the towers. You can los cap bunkers, archers cannot shoot inside. Horde can attack tower defenses through the walls. Horde can bypass most of the alliance NPCs and 1 pull van. The backdoor method to get into the alliance base is easy. None of the graveyards are easy to defend like IB or IBT like horde has. Stop trying to defend a broken map.

This isn’t 2004, everyone knows the exploits and map. Why would AV be the same as before when one of the complaints is that everything is easier? That’s because people min max everything. Times have changed and so have the players.

It’s not this cockamamie nonsense of defeatism or any such nonsense. There’s real problems and people keep trying to play them off. Alliance do well in ab and wsg. There’s no need for av. Funny alliance do well when the map isn’t fubar.

Honestly man I feel you, alliance seems to never win and it’s not because of anything that isn’t possible to improve on.

Sure, some will claim the bg map gives horde an advantage, and I wouldn’t argue against that, but ultimately players make or break the game.

Ive won 3x AV’s since playing the BG and im currently 12k rep away from exalted.

Ive learned the best is to maintain SH GY, move either to SF GY or even to IB GY. The problem arises shortly after the push forward, and that is the alliance tend to split in their direction forward, or they get picked off and the team as a whole falls apart. This is the issue.

Horde, as you notice, they all tend to stay packed and as a unit and they maintain whatever node they acquire, if they do lose any gy or tower, they quickly have people backcapping, which is also something that alliance currently lacks on.

Another major issue alliance has as whole, we don’t attack casters or healers nearly as much as horde seem to. Ive noticed in many big team fights, on roads and at gy’s like SH gy and SP gy, the horde warriors are charging in on the casters, and our team tends to focus on them rather we should be doing similar tactics.

Sure, maybe we lack healing power or melee power in team fights one may argue, but I don’t think so. I think we just aren’t attacking casters and healers enough, and all our damage is going onto the hordes front line, when our damage and focus needs to be on the back casters, healers to force them back.

Im seriously convinced that 90% of players in AV are botting.

Im currently in a 50+ min game, where alliance has progressed no where and has held SH GY the entire time. This makes no sense, no group of people have tried moving forward to SF at ALL.

There is no way people are this mindlessly playing to hold SH with no progression.

Sigh.

Alliance do well when they actually try to win.

I have 2+ hour que times for AV I spend that time farming for consumables like invis potions.

I use those to get to ally back line. And I find bots and leeches every game, minimum I’ve found in a game is 5. The max I’ve found was 17… 17 that’s almost 50% of ally team not participating and that’s the ones who I can clearly identify.

And no, horde can’t LoS your archers in bunkers, because unless we kill 2-3 of the archers one of them will always be in LoS and interrupting the cap. I’m not saying we can’t LoS some of them, but never all of them.

The alliance have an easy backdoor to horde base to ignore 100% of our NPC defense (might get shot by an Archer 2-3 times, that’s it) and the ally backdoor is a small path that when slowed by a frost mage makes the jump for the path impossible, having 2-3 mages rotating blizzards with proper pvp frost talents on that spot shuts down that backdoor option.

I would love for them to flip the map for a month just to prove allies wrong that it’s not the map, but even then they will try to claim it is, because the sheer moral increase flipping the map will give them will improve their winrate. Because they will actually try for once.

Alliance still lose even when they try to win. So majority of alliance has given up. Sure, you still get many fresh people coming in with hopes to win and progress, who promote strategies like pushing SF or IB Gy, but it’s roughly always a failure.

The new strat is to just kill Lt’s, get easy rep and honor, and lose the game quickly and move to the next. Most people will only play this horrible outdated version of the BG until they reach exalted, and then it will never cross their mind again.

Obviously because it clearly carries over to the other two maps…

Oh wait.

double post

Gonna let ya in on a little secret here, fella.

“get SF”?

Ever notice how the horde always seem to have it turn red first every match? Ya…that’s cause the distance is shorter and allows you to not only get on the flag but have it turned red before the alliance can even touch you.

Which means the crappy map even starts us off at a disadvantage because defending a flag with even numbers is much easier than assaulting a flag with even numbers.

The MAP starts us off at a disadvantage and it gets worse from there.

I’m sure such a masterful strategist would have noticed such things, what with your elite awareness and all.

LOL…

nah its the map

First of all roll Holy (JK)
Its an uphill battle but you want to Turtle Stonehearth GY and cap either Snowfall or Iceblood GY with your Spare forces, If you loose Stonehearth the game is pmuch over, i cannot stress this enough.
If you manage to get snowfall you want to secure the cap, still mantaining Stonehearth, and start pushing Iceblood tower, graveyard, and Tower point, then Frostwolf, etc.
The game follows a natural flow if you can pull that off just push south, even then you want to delay the horde from taking Stonehearth as much as you can, you dont want their offensive efforst to shift into a turtle.

This is how i ‘‘leadded’’ a team into winning yday, granted this wont work with any competent team.

Not really. It would be just like every other BG. All alliance players who care about pvp even a little bit haven’t been queuing for AV for months at this point. It’s all about WSG/AB premades. And as a solo queuer AB is actually pretty alright. AV is just not worth doing as alliance atm

Wait, so you’re saying that if both sides could premade there would be a more balanced win rate between factions?

But what about all those map advantages Alliance love crying about? If pug vs pug= autowin for Horde because of map advantage, then why would premade vs premade be any different?

Because it’s not the map.

It’s the pug alliance mentality of defeatest tomfoolery

Get good…

You’ll enjoy the game more if you just skip AV and play the other BGs the game offers. AV is dead Alliance side.

Interestingly enough, this was exactly the way horde played against premades and it was absolutely infuriating.

AV is a total waste of time for anyone playing alliance. Used to love it, but this needs fixed badly. It’s unplayable and unwinnable and until Blizz wakes up and sees this, it’s broken and a waste of time.

I’m not crying about map imbalance. All the alliance players who know how to pvp don’t queue for AV, that’s why you have 2 hour queues. I’m not saying it would be straight up 50/50, but with people who actually understand how to play the game alliance would win significantly more than the sub-1% they win now. Both other BG’s are fairly balanced in winrates, and ive won more than I’ve lost pugging AB. So horde aren’t more “skilled”, the alliance that queue for AV atm are the worst we have to offer.

The gap between que times is so large. Horde are happy to just be in a BG

Can’t win unless the alliance ur with are similarly hungry

Blessing of protection/mage combo is unbelievably broken in zerg pvp

Yes we’d smoke you very very hard in premade vs premade
