I wonder if there is a community that supports druids? I understand that the class isn’t very viable in the endgame, but are they really going to be isolated from raids and PVP (not being flag carrier) .
Any guilds looking to bring them on, and try to clear the content with them? Any new discoveries that can make the class more reliable and somehow worthy of being picked?
I feel Druids are being rejected by the community and that is just sad.
Druids are welcome in even hardcore raids, but you pretty much have to go resto.
If you plan on doing end game raiding with a guild thats progressing content as it is current, there really isn’t any getting around going resto, but healing is actually more fun than a lot of the dps rotations in classic raiding tbh.
Only the most hardcore guilds will be super exclusive.
Once you get to like AQ40 and naxx you need to be a little more min max in your raid roster, but again, except for a select few specs you should have a raid spot.
Druids are the least played class which makes them the most desirable. Most guilds will struggle to find 1 or 2 decent druids. You’re there for intervates, battlerez, motw, thorns, and any support tools you bring. A feral or a moonkin if geared right and combined with the melee groups or caster groups will get into raids easily.
It’s viable it just isn’t the best… Classic balance worked differently then retail does, not everyone did the same dps but they all brought something to the table, unique buffs and Druid’s where the only one that can battle res.
Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t play a Druid…
Druids are very viable at endgame. Don’t listen to the naysayers. Whatever it is that you would like to do, druids can do it. Druids may get a bad rap from some because of its difficult skill curve and the fact that they are “masters of none”, but 99% of those who complain about playing a druid never fully leveled one. Druids have a niche in a battle rez that will always be needed in raids. Faerie Fire, druid mark, thorns, and HoTs- these all contribute and make everyone warm and fuzzy inside. There is no question that druid is a support class, but druid tanks can’t be disarmed and is a hot commodity for 5-man dungeons. If you don’t want to run the flag, in WSG, hang out in mid in stealth, and be a roots/moonfire/rejuv bot. You’ll be awesome! And you’ll always have the druid community to stand by. We never isolate our druid brothers.
People are haters dude. Roll druid. I am. Hell, I’ve never even mained a druid before ever but I’m going to.
Easy leveling, being rare in general, being decent at wpvp or at least always able to escape (even mages which is usually unheard of), getting showered in gear simply because you’re a druid (tier sets, etc), being always welcomed in raids, not being expected to top meters, having easy solo farm.
These are all amazing reasons to be a druid. Druid is the class for those that want to take it easy. You can totally go hardcore as a druid, but the point is you don’t need to at all.
Even in the most hardcore guilds, really not much is expected from you except buffs, brez, innervate, and decent healing. It’s a nice life.
With some gear and a hybrid spec, druids are pretty amazing 1v1 in the world if played properly. They have a harass, outlast style that is extremely difficult to fight against if played properly.
And of course you’re always wanted in PVP premades. You’re still one of the best healers and best flagrunner without question
People don’t know what they’re talking about, every class has a niche in endgame. Some specializations are less desirable, but even then things like Retribution Paladin and Enhancement Shaman bring things to the table that their counterparts do not.
Retribution Paladin: Repentance and Sanctity Aura, even if they don’t have common usage there is still ways to make them work.
I used Enhancement Shaman in my example. Having one of those gives you access to Weapon Totem Specialization without having a Restoration Shaman put 22 points into Enhancement, which makes them forgo Mana Tide Totem.
I don’t play Horde much, I thought Elemental was more min/max friendly than Enhancement.
Well, rets can help to keep judgement of wisdom/light easily, without annoying holy paladins (if there are debuff slots for these, ofc). Can also be put on the nightfall duty, can also free 5 talent points from holy paladins that could be used for imp concentration aura or other stuff (ret being the might buffer). Not something that big, but we can be more creative hehe. I don’t see a problem for having a few of the underdog specs. Holy pals and fire mages will also love moonkin aura, it is both dps/hps and mana efficiency for them.
Repentance is only has small value in a dungeon and is inferior to other classes CC like sheep/blind/sap/seduce/ any other humanoid CC. Sanctity aura is only semi-decent with other ret or prot paladins (which isn’t needed)
Elemental doesn’t bring anything unique or useful that a regular one cant.
Enhancement has a small niche which is why I didn’t mention them.
