Any Store-Purchased Pets worth it?

There's a bunch of pets available in the store. For "serious" pet battlers, are any of them worth spending $10 on? Any very valuable additions that are a must have?

Thanks.

Are any of them mandatory? Not at all. They all have very unique move sets however, that and their appearances are the selling point.

Really depends on what you are looking for, I would check out the warcraftpets page for each of them and decide for yourself

In doing the Argus pet battle quests, I know I needed Cinder Kitten for one of them. There were no viable strats to complete the achievement without it.

But apart from that, I can't think of any.

Lil Ragnaros has the distinction of having the highest power stat in the game out of any pet. And he can do Magma Trap, which is always fun.

Blossoming Ancient, due to its healing capabilities and resistance to damage, can be a bit of an annoyance.

Lil' Ragnaros is a must-have. I have used Lil'XT and Cinder Kitten more often than not too. I have not used the others much beyond leveling them for my collection.

There is one Master Tamer fight in Dalaran where the Pandarian Monk comes in very handy to beating the 2 stage fight. Can't remember the name off the top of my head but it is the bird that once he is beaten he goes into egg form.

Something to keep in mind, usually there's a pet sale in December where most of the pets will be half off. The newest pet and the current charity pet are normally still full price though.

Heliousius, or something like that. Unborn Val'kyr and Ikky do the job nicely.

Curse of Doom, Haunt, bring in Ikky, Black Claw, Flock, done.

The one I use the most is Cinder Kitten, though I do try to not use the store pets when posting strats xD Other than that, I've used the Pandaren Monk for one, and Whomper for a couple recently.

Broot, from the Druid class hall, is basically an improved Blossoming Ancient.

I wouldn't rank any of the store pets better than about third tier for PvE. You certainly don't need any of them to do every PvE challenge in the game.

Even in PvP, they're not particularly strong or they're easily replaced with in-game pets.

thankfully thats not correct, I've completed every PvE challenge and I dont have any shop pets.

In general, the shop pets are strong, but not essential. Which is really how it should be.

(PVP)The store pets i see the most are lil' ragnarok, blossoming ancient and the dread hatchling.

I see a lot of lil' ragnaros in my pvp q but honestly the magma rageling is way stronger(mostly because its faster).

Then theres the blossoming ancient, but theres broot from druid class hall thats just a better version of it. And also elementals (even in sunlight teams) are not very strong rn because of the ammount of strong water pets in the meta.

And, at last, the most useful in my opinion, the dread hatchling! It has really good stats (i really like the 292 speed + 288 atk now) for a call darkness + nocturnal strike user. PvP wise of the available pets in the store this is the one i like the most.

I had no idea about Broot! Going to try to get him.

He's very easy to get as far as class pets go. One of the perks of the Druid class hall is two patches of soil that allow you to grow useful items. And you can also get the class pets from them. My Druid got both class pets very early on.

He's not as easy as the Shaman pet, but certainly much more easy than the Monk pet and the three DK pets.

Dread Hatchling is not available on the store in the same way other pets mentioned here were.
It came with the Warlords of Draenor collector's edition, which as far as I can see is no longer available from the store.

You can actually just get the digital deluxe items for $20 in the store:

No problem! Now if they could do it with all the xpacs pre-WoD
xD

Yea, you can get WoD and Legion Digital Deluxe currently.

The WoD is SUPPOSED to have been removed, so I would get that ASAP. It was already removed from the in-game shop (Legion can still be bought in-game), but not from the online store.

As for the pets, the only ones I've found to actually be useful in fights are:

Lil' Ragnaros
Pandaren Monk
Blossoming Ancient
Shadow (It has a niche use in a few fights, but it isn't as good as the other 3)

THAT SAID, I would wait until next month. The past 3 or 4 years, they've done a sale during Christmas time where all pets are put 50% off, so $5 (except the new pets, which would be Captain Crackers and Whomper this year).
