Any "Resident Alien" Fans Here?

I began watching it when it first began streaming and then some stuff changed in my life and I was unable to follow it.

Until the last few nights, when I binged the whole 3 seasons, and can’t wait for season 4 to begin.

The acting (IMO) is awesome. Alan Tudyk, not only plays an alien in a “human suit”, he plays an uncomfortable alien in a human suit. The walk, the laughter, the timing of the jokes ---- I imagine that takes some doing, amd Tudyk does it well. Some of the names he chooses to call Max, had me almost on the floor laughing.

Which makes me wonder how much the actors are allowed to ad lib in this series? Some of the dialogue just flows so natural…maybe someone here knows?

The writing is superb. Admittedly, I got lost when Goliath entered the picture, but that got straightened out when we were told that Harry was really Goliath and that “Baby” was his child.

I also liked the fact that they shoot more and more of the scenes “on location” – one really gets that “cold” feeling when you see Darcy shooting the slopes.

Now I have a question: Forgot the number episode it may have been, but it was the one where people were being "interviewed’ about their UAP experiences. Remember ? It was at the beginning of that episode. Was Clint Eastwood one of those “people”? Sure did look and sound like him.

ALL of the actors turn in great performances, but although I didn’t know of him before the series, “Big Black” (Corey Reynolds) has some lines that sound like they’re delivered off a staged comedy performance. “Debbie” (the deputy) as his foil and confidante is perfectly cast, and I look forward to seeing more of her in season 4.

I’ll stop here and ask y’all to comment. but in conclusion, I’m glad to have found a show which can still make this “Old Coot” of 75 laugh. And feel.

Thanks

Not past season 1.

I hope you’re enjoying it, Rakham!

In the first post, I meant to mention that the show’s writers are very adept at “poking fun” at itself. Someone must have commented that it is similar to the sitcom, "MAS*H, because in one of the episodes, the directors added some of those similarities including the theme.:+1:

I think you misunderstood me. I meant I stopped being a fan when I got past season one. My wife and I dipped out after the girl’s night episode in s2. But if you’re enjoying it, then keep on keeping on.
