Has Blizzard Dev’s come out and explained why Shadow Priest in solo shuffle has been turned into a training dummy?
Is it to make melee feel good vs a caster?
Is it to force players to play healer instead?
It’s to contain their power level.
Also to single you out, personally, and make you mad.
This is all official blue post stuff.
If you listen to the top players it’s fine , it just has a really high skill floor, it’s a learn to get gud thing. I mean splay is the easiest comp to succeed on.
In reality it’s tuned around precog and 3’s and it’s actually viable if you have mongo warlock buddy in comms because its a pick your poison for the other team and you get to actually play a little bit.
cant have 2 specs in 1 class doing well. its blizzard’s rule of thumb.
what if we are just mad in general?
You’re playing WoW.
Not that I think you are making this up or that you heard them wrong. I am sure you are 100% correct
but can you link where several top players said this not named Twitch and saying hot takes but seriously saying it?
quoted in 7:20 listed as B tier by Several top players including AWC players , wonder what top players are saying they are fine and just need a high skill floor

how did you know, are you spying on me??? or did my wife rat me out?
because a SP left unchecked is devastating. same with lock and mage and devoker. The only way to win against them is to train them most of the game.
It’s not a melee zug zug problem, its a caster meta and the only way to stop them from doing unthinkable things is to train them down. Cause and effect.
I get that but currently SP in Solo Shuffle has no outs its just take the damage and hope someone else dies before you die
I dont think making them kite monsters would be a good thing either
your teammates need to peel for you. you play around the healer, it’s definitely harder for a SP to coordinate in RSS, thats another reason life swap is handy.
But it being a solo mode, and SP having very limited mobility, probably puts it at more of a disadvantage naturally compared to other casters with high mobility, because until you are towards the top end of the ladder, relying on teammates to play properly depending on your composition, is pretty rough.
Remi and Flapz both said the same thing in an earlier thread I’m at work on my phone or I would otherwise link it but , it is the consensus amongst some of the better players on the forums.
Edit: they’re not saying it needs a high skill floor they’re saying it has one.
Fair thank you champ for the reference
just went 4-2 in an Arms WW Sub lobby I got attacked about 50% of the time. 1990 MMR lobby. Honestly just make yourself annoying to attack and they get bored fast.
I’ll the be the first to advocate for Spriest changes, PvP and PvE but it’s plenty viable.
(Funny enough the rogue did the worst and he flamed me every round we were together which I found enjoyable.)
glad you are making it work. guess I just see poor SP’s get bullied hard by WW’s Arms DH Sub( that everyone though) UHDK everyone bullies SP’s it seems only one that doesnt is Boomies
Something for others to remember (and this applies to all specs) is that if you can’t kite you can still drag or position in such a way that it makes the enemy healer uncomfortable following their melee in.
guessing the rogue went 0-6?
I think they were talking about threes more than shuffle. Also most of the comments were in response to people saying “spriest is unviable” with like 30% winrates at 1200 cr.
Spriest is definitely one of the weaker specs in shuffle overall, especially at lower ratings. However, that does NOT mean it’s not viable or cant succeed even when handled by an average player.
Part of what it makes it weaker in shuffle relatively is the prevalency of melee players (not uncommon to have triple melee lobbies) coupled with the fact that the game starts in dampening with most of spriest “tankiness” coming from healing as opposed to mitigation or cc.
That’s how they were designed.
You are supposed to get a tiny bit of space between you and the melee for a few seconds to get your deadly spells on your target. Get your mindgames up and that dps will need to wait even longer before attacking you…
Give a spriest more space and they’d probably be the deadliest caster in the game. I generally avoid trying to fight spriests solo with my feral druid when I come across them in blitz brawl. Good thing I rarely see them because they do kinda struggle in group content. But so does feral so I have no sympathy for a crying spriest LOL.
Won one, killed my WW in a duel
