Any real point in leveling Cooking on alts?

Was just wondering, with all the warband additions im struggling to really see the point.

You can just funnel all mats into the warband, and same for the food items.

There is no point in leveling professions at all unless you want to make stuff. I dont know of anything currently that would benefit from having it leveled twice such a lockouts on transmutes.

The only food that is soulbound that I know of is the fishing buff.

I can’t see a value-added… one character can learn all the relevant recipes that are most often in demand and all your alts can just funnel cooking materials to that main chef.

It’s not like Blacksmithing where there are multiple, large spec trees such that specializing in Weaponsmithing or Amrorsmithing is beneficial to split among two characters. Same with Leatherworking going Mail-armor on one toon and Leather-armor on a different toon. There’s just no need for that kind of spec-tree split among alts with Cooking.

Nah. The fewer crafting orders I need to place for profession equipment the better.

Yes, I’m hungry.

Splitting trees with alts is kinda brilliant as far as getting points over time. I don’t know if I’m ashamed for not doing it or proud of not grinding multiple alts on one profession.

Not really, you’re just better off with one maxxed out cook (preferably Panadran (though not named Nomi)) and have all your Alts giving all their food stuff to them.

cooking lol, you can just door dash and they’ll meet you at the summoning stone.

There isn’t even a point in leveling cooking on your main.

No, the only professions that are worth leveling on alts are the ones that require Concentration to make the highest quality.

Cooking is useless. Feasts magically appear in my guilds raids.

I’m an altoholic, I made 20x 70’s during remix and currently have 11x 80’s. Not one of them cooks.

That’s a eating disorder.

I order from Pandarens, they eat like half of it but theres always extra portions.

I can’t just leave that bar unfilled. The character isn’t complete!

Depending on what content you do, the extra flask duration is useful for 25 points into alchemy. All my alts have alchemy. Only my main has cooking but its not maxed bc someone else always drops a feast.

edit: this was in reply to a couple of comments saying no professions are worth leveling on alts

This.

I played around with it a little, but the buffs are so small anymore and the ingredients to actually level it start getting ridiculous, I went “nah I’m good” and didn’t even bother.

Heck, I only leveled it in older expansions only because it was a bar to be filled in, and not because the buffs were actually noticeable in any way. But now that they are so ludicrously grindy, I don’t even bother.

What a bunch of idiots in these replies.

Yes, you should level cooking for the Hearty food buff.
