Any point playing sub competitively?

I’ve jumped back into the game after a break since the second week of Dazaralor, was super bored of assassination and burnt out from the game. Recently I’ve just started up again, and am having a blast on Subtelty in world PvP (I leveled as sub and began the expansion on it before I changed to Sin to start chasing numbers). Now I know I am heavily Sin geared - with almost no Vers and my best stat is haste - so I know that’s probably why my damage is so low in raids, but is there any point currently trying to play Sub in mythic+ or raids? Once geared for the right stats and right azerite traits am I just going to always be lower than the other two specs? I love the spec but I may lose interest if I have to work hard to re-gear and just fail to keep up with any other rogues in any content.

Sub takes a lot of practice and is highly rewarding once mastered. I’d recommend sticking to it.

Lots of rogues pick up assassination because it takes virtually no skill and has high damage. If you want to go that route, theres that option

I enjoy sub a lot and play all 3 specs. I prefer sub in certain dungeons or affixes like bursting week I’ll go sub so that I can pile drive one target at a time and talent into secret tech for reaping phases.

Also prefer sub for shrine of the storm because the dots fall off on the second boss and the last boss is easier to deal with when you have a strong, single target burst window for the phase change.

Sub takes tons of practise and requires some precision playing to get good damage.

Making sure you have 60 energy lined up when both shadowdance and symbols of death come off CD is the key to getting 4 shadowstrikes and 2 eviscerates while not wasting CPs on nightblade while still having it applied during the burst window.

Ooops didn’t realise I posted on an alt!

I’m more than fine spending the time to collect the appropriate gear as long as the pay off is going to be I can compete well enough in most content.

I love sub too, sin just feels so boring and sub has so many different talent set-ups and feels different PvPing, single targeting and AOEing, I love it, just don’t wanna spend the time gearing to find myself the bottom of the charts that’s all.

Sounds promising then, I’ll continue along the subtle path then!
