Any plan for cross-realm? Or was 1.14 released just to annoy your customers by breaking their addons?

Oceanic PvE, whilst having nominally active leveling and the occasional dungeon, has never had a raid post TBC split, it just doesn’t have the population of active 60s to allow it. Most of the time server population is in the teens or early 20s (1-60), and the number of 60s on can generally be counted on one hand (and is often zero).

The pending 1.14 upgrade of a client gave me some hope that there may be cross-realm, that I would be able to raid in US raids whilst continue to have a low lag experience in the open world.

But it seems all 1.14 has delivered is breaking a bunch of addons, along with free character transfers from Oceanic to US East (not West).

Anyone with a basic understanding of geography (not Blizzard apparently) knows that whilst the lag will be bad enough from Australia to the US on the other side of the world, it’s even worse if we’re then forced across the continental US.

It seems to me that the intent is to kill the Oceanic server, as only free transfers FROM, not TO, Oceanic are allowed. The fact that out of the three remaining PvE servers, Blizzard is encouraging people to transfer away from the lowest population server, whilst forcing people to pay to transfer to it, can only suggest to me that they’re trying to permanently kill the Oceanic server.

What I would like ideally is for Blizzard to actually use this 1.14 client for something useful, instead of just to annoy everyone by breaking their addons, and enable cross-realm.

If you’re not capable of this, can you please open up free transfers to PvE West?

If Blizzard wants to kill the Australian server and then expect me to pay AU$340 (yes, character transfers are AU$34 each) just so I can transfer to the nearest US server, I will be definitely unsubbing. That’s a terrible way to treat your customers.

My only guess as to why they offered free transfers instead of an outright merge was to see if people would actually do it instead of forcing the playerbase to merge. I guess in the end it technically works out, but only because people would unsub and the remainder would transfer rather than remain on an even more dead server. I know it sucks, but at least it is something. Whether you unsub or not, I sincerely hope the best for you. This whole ordeal has been unnecessarily painful and neglectful to the playerbase.
