I am pretty much over the fact that one of our hero talents on both of the trees (sentinel/pack leader requires us to run butchery… Its completely useless in PvP and would be nice if you could opt for a general 5% damage increase passive at the least or something more beneficial like a possible dual charge on harpoon? Just sucks to see a hero talent slot completely wasted for some people like myself who only run single target builds
Exactly
Or they even could do something quite simple to adress pvp
“Symphonic Arsenal”
“Multi-Shot and Butchery discharge arcane…” → “Multi-Shot, Butchery or triggering any trap discharge arcane…”
The only pvp place you can use it right now is the vs AI Brawl
because after bombs and application of a few sentinel stacks you can discharge them with Butchery and do massive damage with Symphonic Arsenal.
This is the case with Dark ranger for BM/MM as well. All of the hero talents for hunters have a non optional talent point that only impacts aoe spells… This is a hunter issue overall.
I play MM, but used to offspec SV as well.
This expansion I refuse to play SV and I haven’t even switched spec to SV once even to try it out and put abilities on my bars, because I refuse to play sentinel and pack leader.
Sentinel is great in PVE unless tank never stands still. Pack leader is incredibly undertuned and has zero new visuals. Those are the main problems imo.
All 3 of them are kinda lame tbh. I don’t really care if any of them are strong, they’re all just underwhelming to play around with and feel half-baked.
I desperately want to play PL and have it at least do numbers in the same block as Sentinel, but Blizzard clearly doesn’t want survival playing PL
sentinel is alright but its capstone ability is just resounding arrow/wild spirits and packmaster was clearly designed around bm/sv pre-rework
Do we have to be a survival hunter to not like the hero talents?
I actually like Pack Leader, though I definitely understand the frustration of feeling forced to waste a talent point in the Hero tree on an ability you might not even pick up in the Survival tree.
I have this same issue with Coordinated Assault as I prefer to run Fury of the Eagle and Spearhead.
Nah I’m fine with them and I can live with the dead talent.
Survival pack master feels bonkers
I play flanking strike over coordinated assault because it not only does tons of damage but is also on a shorter CD, feels bad fury of the eagle is easily stunnable and your major cd is gone, wish it worked like a bladestorm
Almost every other Class received a new form of mobility with the Hero Talents and Hunters are still the same, It’s harder than ever to kite even 5 second of CDR on disengage could help a lot instead of the 5yard range.
funny thing is all 3 Hunter Hero Talents have the same Butchery/Multishot talents that is useless in Single Target. I don’t care anymore since Blizzard doesn’t care and 90% of the hunter player base just eat up anything you throw at them instead of asking for real changes.
Or 90% of the playerbase just doesn’t engage with PvP lol
lol ok & that doesn’t alleviate from the fact that its a useless talent on single target builds which even occur in pve??
The entire rework is trash. The hero talents are all trash. It’s just all bad in basically every way. So bad that I’m playing mm with the trash hero talents it has too.
Thanks to a poll done by blizzard we found out that this isn’t true. The amount of players that enjoy some form of pvp only falls 3% behind the amount that enjoy pve. I would hazard a guess to say there is a lot of cross-over there.
I used to believe as you do, but as it turns out this might be a myth.
What was the sample size of the poll? Where was it posted?
The designers do not want anyone to play PL. Otherwise, it would become obviously clear they put no effort into it. They had two ideas for Hero talents and need a third. They just used some passive buffs for BM and called it a hero tree.
I really don’t remember off the top of my head where. It was somewhere in these forums I think and I am not going to put the energy in to look. But the sample size was something around 20k I think? It’s not a majority of players, but it’s enough to get a finger on a pulse.
It didn’t qualify pvp modes either, just any form of pvp including random bgs. But it was still a surprising outcome to me.
