Any older crowd who are not about pushing content playing?

Almost 50, been playing since 05, but not competitively for a decade plus. Work, life, kids, priorities changed, and I found my ability to deal with the drama decrease as I want an escape from it not a virtual version of it. Though TWW has some technical challenges, I will say this is the most I have played since MOP. I enjoy going at my pace, being able to stop switch out laundry, go eat dinner, and have all those necessary RL breaks. I enjoy the MMO aspect when it’s about teamwork and comradery, but I can do without the added GoGoGo…

Not necessarily older, but darn if I have always liked “just enjoying the game.” I have a lot of responsibilities so WoW is the one place I just go to chill and enjoy. I spend more time walking, just looking and things, relaxing, and doing whatever comes across my path. Super chill. I love it.

Glad to hear you’re enjoying the game your way!

In my mid 40’s stopped playing seriously in Cata and left retail for Classic when it came out. I have just recently come back to retail at the end of DF. I’ve been really enjoying retail’s stories with the cinematic’s. I almost feel like I’m playing through a little movie which I love. I try to avoid the drama as much as possible. So just play at my own pace with my wife nowadays doing whatever we just find fun and relaxing. The games not the same anymore, I’m not the same anymore. So just treating it that way and enjoying it for what it is and my fond memories of what it was, has made it enjoyable

ive been casual since day 1. Other more hardcore pve and pvp mmos have made sure I hate pushing the envelope. The more casual WoW gets, the more i play.

Some days I go longer than others. Leveling a new alt that feels just right can make my OCD kick in and i can go 10 hours.

Ooo, that sums up exactly my feelings. :+1:

Yes we do exist. But no way I’m joining a guild called “rabid pink bunnies” lol.

Many (most?) of the non-incels who started playing in Wrath have kids now.

In high school.

Of course the game has a different player base.

Don’t have kids but was 40 when vanilla came out. Did not start playing until Pandaria though.

No, casual means you play to have fun - not push the content envelope to the edge.

This is relevant in discussions about gaming.

Then everyone is casual.

I’m not so sure about that.

I reup my sub once a year for a month or two just to keep names, and maybe play some new content. Mostly for the story. I miss the days when this was an RPG.

edit: over 50, been around on and off since 2004. I did raid in 2006/7 but got annoyed by some issues.

I mostly play 14 these days, better raid scene IMO.

Over 50 here.

High tier stuff ( like Mythic Raiding etc), seems to me to be too much like a job.

So I stick to content that I enjoy. However the guild bank -to be polite- fiasco has thrown a wrench into the works.

Suprised to see so many in the MMO-AARP-G crowd. Turning 57 in Nov, but still have the serious business job that prevents me from serious business gaming.

And, my twitch is fading. Feels like having a perma-slow cast on me.

41 years old here.

Been playing since the end of Vanilla/Start of BC. Returned to retail after spending most of Dragonflight playing Classic.

Loving delves. Feels great to get loot on par with normal raids without having to deal with Mythic+ gatekeepers. Happy to continue doing my solo thing while waiting for the weekly raid night with my guild.

I’m 51. Raided as tank until end of WoD. I’m a solo causal player now but I’m enjoying delves (cleared 9’s). It makes me practice my reflexes and dexterity. That’s as far as I’ll go into progression though. I’m not interested in group content anymore.
