Leveling tips for phase 2? The only trick is to not go to work, don’t take care of any personal things, no sleep. There isn’t any trick to leveling faster unless you are a mage. Then it’s AoE Farm at unused places. But to be fair getting to max level faster has the easiest solution, don’t sleep and only play the game. It’ll be heavily contested, but if your on non-stop you’ll eventually get ahead of most people and not be fighting with others. Dungeon leveling is good early, but unless you got 4 other people, you’re not gonna be able to spam dungeons for aslong of time as you are able to quest, and the moment you lose some people and got to find new people to join and wait for them to get too you, your fast leveling has been ruined. And seeing as how there are limits to how many dungeons you can do an hour, and the increased strength of our character, dungeons are gonna be complete fast.
Edit: Difference between questing and dungeon farming is questing is normally faster, but contested quests might ruin that. Dungeon Farming is good to do if you got a group of 5 people, planning on being on the same amount of time as you, and willing to wait inbetween lock outs. That’s why you really on see streamers leveling through dungeons for long periods of time to make it seem good. And lets be honest, most popular streamers get carried, if you aren’t a popular streamer, you no get benefits. Asmongold could put someone on follow take a nap and wake 10 levels higher, with an army around him protecting him from the opposite faction.
I have no plans, im gonna wing it and enjoy the ride.
No pre questing, no prep
Fill your quest log. Save wool for turn in, save drums for turn in, save 20 WSG marks for turn in. Get items that start quests but do not start the quests till turning in your full complete log.
Then Spam SM from 28 → 40.
wsg marks give 0 xp now btw
Thats lame. I wonder if the 29 / 39 quest (not the repeatable) will still award exp.
the non repeatable quest will still give xp for sure, they had trouble disabling the wsg marks from being redeemable in the mail (people could farm 100’s of them to power level phase 2) so they just cut the xp gains
Oh I know, I have quite a few myself. Oh well, still free honor I guess.
Just level
Don’t stress yourself out trying to min max. Just level and try to have fun.
When you are about ready to leave a zone and quest somewhere else that is a good time to start a faction war and then dip out before the consequences catch you.
to 40? or 25?
me im just holding out and gonna level slowly. why? cause i’ve been there done that in retail for many years it gets tiring. this is also my first play through in classic so i want it to be as enjoyable for myself as possible otherwise wtf is the point in it for me?
i’ve had not issues thus far doing anything outside of BFD because 1. guilds i join are “dead” 2. i was so far behind getting to lvl 25 for various reasons like rerolling 20+ times trying to pick a main that i literally had maybe 2-3 days to pug into BFD. so today is my last day to try and do that which is the last thing on my list for p1 if i can get it done i’d be extremely happy if not it’s okay people will still run BFD in p2 for the buff/gear i believe.
100%. There’s no contested mobs in a dungeon.
My plan is to do BFD with my guildies first thing after Phase 2 drops, because BFD will give you about 25k experience apparently. After that, my guild will break up into a bunch of 5 man dungeon groups to farm Stocks into RFK into SM for as long as we can stand it.
Here’s the thing to know about leveling in Classic and thus also SoD. The experience from questing is 80% mob exp, 20% quest exp. Unlike retail where it’s been 80% quest exp and 20% mob exp for at least a decade.
So if you can do dungeons instead of questing, not only will you not be competing with the other players trying to do your quests alongside you, you’ll also get just as much if not more experience from grinding the mobs and bosses in dungeons compared to out in the world.
You can prolly skip RFK, I never did it leveling in classic as Alliance, with Stocks being in, its really not needed. GY starts at 28 and its a much better farm.
i watched a sweat lord produce the fastest way to 40 (if you do it right, you can be 40 within 3 hours of release)…
step 1) farm 5 fast dungeons (so the lock out triggers)
step 2) clear a bfd raid in under 20 minutes
step 3) turn in the stacked quests you have waiting
step 4) farm those fast dungeons again that now cleared your reset timer
— go to the level 30+ zones within the first hour of release, get all the quests do them uncontested since most nubcakes will be just trying to discover some rune stuff
step 5) farm 5 fast dungeons for lock out
step 6) go to 32+ zone do all those quests
step 7) farm 5 fast dungeons or move to SM and zerg library - zoom zoom
The guy who has conscripted me into his dungeon spam group doesn’t think that SM GY will have enough mobs to keep us from locking ourselves out of it. So he wants to skip SM GY and do RFK instead.
Which I’m okay with because it’ll give me a chance to get Corpsemaker.
Eh, we ran 4x mage 1x priest, so we were doing pretty large AOE pulls, and GY worked pretty well, I think there was a very short downtime between being instance locked, but since its only like 28-32/34ish before you can jump to Lib its pretty nice. You can do or at least previously could do multiple wings on the same lock so… GY+ Lib into Lib + arms into Arms + Cath.
Make sure to take some breaks . Go to the bathroom and eat some food . Try not to over drink Mountain Dew and coffee. Don’t want you in the hospital first day of playing .
