Are there any places that are designated areas for RP cross faction?
Designated, no. It’s basically wherever you can find it and whatever terms you come to with the other person. I’ve met Horde friends all over the place (frequently in Shadowlands).
I used to have some luck at the Port of Zandalar, since the mobs there are only orange (unfriendly) to Alliance, but I doubt that’s the case. I would begin by first finding out where Alliance hang out. Which is usually Oribos, along with everyone else right now.
If you’re looking for unscheduled walk ups with random people on the same level as standing in the Valley of Honor/Mage Quarter, then now. Definitely not.
However, a lot of people do schedule cross faction RP in places like Booty Bay and Dalaran. Or, as mentioned above, sneaking into parts of faction cities that have more lax guard coverage. I like visiting Stormwind on my goblin.
But there’s a lot of cross faction roleplay in the form of scheduled events. You’ll see them advertised here on the forums using the < N-RP > and < H/A-RP > tags. Or on vaious Discord, Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr channels. This one tracks a lot of neutral events.

Unironically agree, though. I’ve made a few friends by having seeing a Wyrmie in a BG and reaching out after the fight.

If I see a Wyrmie in BG they’re usually priority number 1. That or the occasion I recognize some streamer’s name or something like that.
But yeah, I’ve met a few folks who’ve reached out or visa verse via shared server and personal vendetta.

Events certainly are your best bet for cross faction RP, not too many people hang out randomly at locations good for cross faction RP.

I’ve had good success in enemy cities. You just have to be willing to get your hands dirty and deal with guards or aggressive players from time to time. People definitely enjoy the unexpected arrival of an orc in Stormwind.
There are a few good spots with few guards in both Stormwind and Orgrimmar.

I’ve had a bit of luck in Legion Dalaran from time to time. It’s not as active as Orgrimmar, Silvermoon and Stormwind, but I’ve run into RPers there who I’ve walked up to and chatted. Booty Bay occasionally has something too, but more rarely I’d suggest

I wish the Alliance roleplayed in Goldshire, it would be easier for me to cross faction RP over there, sadly goldshire is practically dead on wyrmest accord.

You probably don’t want the type of RP Goldshire offers anyway tbh. I visited MG Goldshire once. Once. Scared me off the entire server

Sorry for murderizing your plug twice. I did RP with them in the end at least. In my defense they didn’t come up as having an RP profile so I just assumed the worst till I saw the tongues pot. Woops.

Cross RP is a great addon, let’s you see the opposite fiction’s bio! But both parties need it on or it doesn’t work.
