Any Devs out there that have completed the mage tower?

This feels awful as a Tank and I want to know what developer from blizz has completed it.

I tried my Prot Paladin multiple times and have had no luck. Prot Warrior and Druid are in the same boat. Can someone give me insight? I can’t meet the dps check and I’m on well over 24+ hours of off and on solid playing and over 30-40k gold in debt from supply’s like Food,Flask, Pots and Drums. Even Enchants and gems was pricey. Last night alone I started at 12am and stayed up till 11am with no success and here I am now tackling a challenge that feels near impossible.

I love a challenge but I feel this might be more than what I wanted to sign up for as someone whos played most of wow’s timeline I’m actually started getting tilted after going back rewatching guides and hearing “OH I accomplished this with X Trinket or Enchant or trap cheese” which is now nerfed so it’s like come on blizzard this should have been looked over before release now those players are telling us to just GET GUD…It’s so toxic.

Before the Get gud kids are here just understand I swear to you the tanking challenges are not a joke and are not easy at all. It’s either that or I’m just a 15year+ trash boomer that just needs to throw in the towel and accept defeat which kills me since that’s not me usually… This challenge actually feels like one Idk if I can complete idk what I can do differently.

I pretty much go in circles around the boss to avoid the Infernal knock backs and try my best to face or prioritize killing the eyes on top of managing keeping consecration under the priest while trying to pay attention for drain life to interrupt it also managing the circle debuff to my health every 8 - 12 seconds weaving in and out of the defile or w/e you call it…I just feel there is to much to juggle on top of managing some what decent TANK DPS.

It’s not really a tank fight. It’s a DPS fight.

I’d be surprised if any of them actually played the game.

What are you talking about…??? They didn’t playtest this — or anything — at all. Systems like conduit energy wouldn’t have existed if Ion and his team cared enough to playtest things

Top priority is always Drain Life, always rush in to interrupt that, OR walk into the Golden orb which will fear and interrupt all mobs on the platform! It will also heal you to full hp so only use it when the Wraith ghosts are up and you’re below 55% hp. Don’t stay in the defile under Varys beyond 6 stacks. At 10 stacks you will get one-shot. You’re doing well focusing the eyes as they can quickly overwhelm you and you need to directly look at one to avoid its knockback. Keep trying, don’t give up. Took me 110 tries for Agatha and she’s meant to be the easiest lol, so hang in there. Eventually your body will begin to adapt.

And it goes without saying that you must use ALL available enchants, gems, food, battle pots, flasks, food buffs and drums at your disposal for all tries.

Here’s a thread somebody else just made with some insight.

I wonder why people think devs dont play the game.

There is absolutely no relation between the flaws of the game and any assumed “not playing the game” by the devs.

And again, “devs” is a term as precise as saying does the teachers in a college mechanics course all know mechanics ?

There are English teachers, chemistry teachers, Math teachers.

I would be really shocked if my English teacher in college were an expert Auditor. Or my Constitutional Law teacher were an exemplar statistician.

The people who develop the levels know the levels, they couldnt develop it if they didnt. The encouter desigers know and test the encounters, they couldnt design it if they didnt.

And it is really easy to someone who knows the encounter to do the encounter. So even if they were freaking amazingly successful in that fight, that would not account to much, because they designed it, so they know what to do even before there is actually any clue as to what to do.

Awesome man, thanks for the intel. After taking a small break and rethinking on what else I can do for this “DPS” fight. I’m going to macro in a 2h sword swap with my sword and shield so my Judgements and auto attacks do more damage. This is my resolve atm and hope it works out.

You really can’t infer that people are talking about the devs working on these systems and mechanics?

If someone was complaining about their math classes would you wonder if they were talking about their English teacher?

And you cant really infer that you are talking about specific devs because the discussion is about diverse areas of development. But I know people often dont know that what they are saying is a class problem is a level problem, and what they complain about level or class problems is actually a encounter design problem.

Matter not, because the argument is the same: Nothing in there suggests it is a “devs not playing the game problem”.

I wonder why you assume they seriously play the game.

An account is an employee perk. But these are people who work a full-time job plus. Most of them did not grow up with warcraft. They are expert programmers, not elite players who have a lifetime invested in the game.

Even Ion doesn’t log in anymore. Mike plays.

I would love devs to show us guardian mage tower xD completion streams lol.

Ion doesn’t do alts. He hasn’t logged in in months. Good luck with that.

Xylem feels worse than Kruul to be honest.

How about the one that does live streams and carries on streams.

when i did the tank challenge back in the day, forcing myself to not get greedy and to keep the room under control was what got it done. p1 died whenever it died (was about 8min iirc).

p2 was trivial since Kruul could be stunned.

I’m right there with you man, I’m on run like 400 with guardian and have gotten him to 3% for my best run. My current problem is the nether horrors in P2, the aggro is dumb, I’ll get 3 of them to come, but a random 1 will just attack velen and now thanks to the new “nerf” just sits there and won’t move until he 1 shots lol. So tired and I would say I’m atleast an above average player hitting duelist on this char this season. Don’t feel bad you aren’t the only one struggling with this crap

I don’t think Ion’s played in quite awhile.

That’s sad

wow no devs reply ?
like always no communication.
sad.

I have decided to do that challenge last from all the complaints. Right now I am at 3/12 classes. Demo lock for me is annoying. The rng sucks. Fear also making Silgryn run out of the map and not be targetable is also annoying. Like we used to have a glyph that made you not move? Idk if that’s even in the game. But I did the same challenge on Rogue and enh shaman and you don’t have to worry about that.

Also for some reason when she cast val’kyrs outside the val’kyrs are all underground. That fight is very buggy. She also used to afk below 50% health in Legion, right now I am stuck with not having enough interrupts when the rune guy shields twice in a row. My summon felhunter takes 6 seconds which is forever. I could save my 2 minute felguard. Also I am so slow and the runes getting into fel puddles is annoying. I had runes pop up like 3 times in a row and I spent most of my time running around. For a long time to just get runes.
