Any Chance that in Classic+ WOLFs Head Helm effect could be a head enchant?

Or better yet just not have powershifting at all.

I actually really like power shifting as a mechanic. It’s a lot of fun for me and I’d hate to see it lost. It’s interesting to me in the same way that seal twisting on my ret pally is, and I think it brings flavour to the game.

It kinda tickles me that the helm is not only kitty BiS for Vanilla, but also for TBC

Whatever they end up doing, I’d love to see power shifting preserved in some way.

I do too. But mcp needs infinite charges.

I got bad news for you buddy.

They started classic+ too late.

It’ll be out sometime before we die

Probably, but someone had a pretty cool idea a while back of making it a druid only questline where you gain the ability to restore its charges.

I’m making this part up now but…

Imagine a questline where, at 60, the very first drop of MCP you find comes with a “scrap of paper”. Reading shows the following text…

Trapped… please send help!
-M [88.11.5…]

This sends you on a quest across the world where you uncover that a Gnomish Engineer named Manuel CristĂłbal Patricio Blastnozzle, a masterwork Weapon Engineer who was never heard from after the invasion of Gnomeregan. The only additional information about him that you can find is that he was working on a great weapon, but he could not bear to unveil it as it was not yet complete.

Proceeding through the questline, you uncover that the numbers scrawled at the end of the letter are an incomplete tracking frequency and with the help of some other gnome engineers and several quests, you craft a tracking device and complete the numbers to provide the frequency. Upon turning it on, you receive a faint signal in the direction of Gnomeregan itself. It seems as though Manuel never made it out!

Stealthily, you infiltrate Gnomeregan. Using the tracker you hone in on the signal. This takes you through to the Engineering Labs, on the opposite side of the balcony from Crowd Pummeler 9-60. In response to the signal, a button appears which reveals a secret door where Manuel has been hiding this whole time. Injured and starving, he needs you to escort him to safety out the back door and he tells you to meet him in later in Ironforge, where he plans to set up a workshop.

When you meet up with him later, he explains that the MCP you hold was incomplete, but he is thrilled that you have found it as it was meant for “one such as you.” As a reward for saving him, he offers to complete the weapon for you, but requires that you bring him additional parts. This sets off another quest line requiring you to gather rare materials from several dungeons. These BoP items don’t have a guaranteed drop rate and may take some time to farm, but should still drop in a fairly reasonable amount of time.

Upon doing so, he upgrades your MCP to MCP+, a level 60 epic version of the MCP with better stats (+20 stam, +20str, +15agi, +1hit, and 200 AP in cat/bear form) in addition to it’s normal on-use effect. He also tells you that he can craft a Hypercharged Active Voltage Energizer (HAVE). This rare quality item holds 5 charges and, when used on the MCP+, it will restore its charges. These can be crafted by a handful of thorium bars and other engineering components. It does not stack but you can hold multiple of these in your bags.

As you complete the quest, Manuel mutters something to himself about something missing, but quickly becomes distracted as a relief valve in his workshop goes off and he has to attend to it. The questline appears to end here and you can return to him to craft more HAVEs as needed.

That is… until you clear to the alchemy labs of Blackwing Lair. Tucked behind one of the work benches you find a strange, glittering electronic device. Something tells you that your friend Manuel better have a look at this. You take it to him in Ironforge and he exclaims excitedly, “Of course! I knew there had to be more…” You ask what this thing is and he says, “Oh, nothing, just some junk you found… but it inspired me!”

So begins the next, and final part of the quest chain. Manuel realizes that he can upgrade your MCP further, into the master weapon it was meant to be. To do so though, he will need some of the most rare materials in all of Azeroth. He tells you to keep an eye out on your adventures.

Upon completion of the quest, you can now find legendary quality crafting mats that drop from a variety of bosses across MC, BWL, and AQ40. You will need two from each raid and these will have a rare drop rate. The collection of all 6 items should be roughly on par with what it takes to farm two bindings for TF or the shards for Atiesh, but persistence will pay off! When you bring them to Manuel, he is able to craft a power-source for what will be your new weapon. Unfortunately, he lacks the power necessary to activate it. He gives it to you and tells you to carry it with you in the hopes that you find the answer.

So you diligently do so, continuing on your adventures in Azeroth. If you then take it into Naxxramas, during a fight with Thaddius, and bring your charge in contact with an opposite charge, you will find that the power source springs to life! You take it back to Manuel and he is able to complete your final weapon… a Legendary quality MCP-B with upgraded stats (+30stam, +25str, +20agi, +2hit, and +420 AP in cat/bear form) and it now holds 5 charges of its ability. Furthermore, he is able to tap some of this power and store it, allowing him to create an epic quality version of the HAVE, specifically for use with the MCP-B, that stores 10 charges instead of 5.

Your quest line is now complete and you wield the most powerful, if unlikely, Feral Druid weapon the game has to offer. The letters, MCP-B etched in gold, gleaming on its handle.

I kinda got lost in that… I should probably go finish cleaning the bathroom.

Dang bro lol

Honestly if mcp got more stats it would be broken, but yes it needs to change. I don’t play feral because I don’t wanna spam run gnomer. I tried and got 3 mcps in 20 lockouts lol

Maybe! Probably not though… it’s not like Feral Druids are topping the charts haha, and it’s not like there’s a lot of feral options in the game. I also kinda wanted to lean into the idea of Wolfshead Helm being BiS for the entire game by having the weapon also be BiS, but not for anybody else. Only Druids could evolve it and through a rather lengthy quest line.

With that said, all of that was completely off the cuff so I make no claims that it’s perfectly balanced. I just got carried away and wanted to have some fun with it. The general ideas though are:

  • Upgraded versions of the weapons to allow it to progress with content.
  • A way to recharge the item, though still at the expense of bag space.
  • Lengthy but engaging questline for Druids to progress through.

Outside of that… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That’s pretty rough luck haha, sorry!!

What is wrong with having PVE BiS aquired at mid 40’s?

Just curious what the hate fir WHH is a about and moreover why is everyone so obsessive over “upgrading the gear” in PvE to do “more of the stuff” so the hard content becomes trivial when you out gear it.

Lord help anyone wanting to play the client made of sticks and glue

Did you get on yesterday for the stress test?

Yeah I did. I got on for launch but I have to get some work done today. Will be back all night tho ofc

30k across all 3 servers + q

Darkspear Isle was packed. Still not entirely sold on faction though.

Depends what server you’re on. If you’re on the war mode server then it doesn’t matter cause you can do contenr cross faction (I don’t like this personally)
