Hey Blizz…any chance of having a classic realm (just 1 please!) that will never introduce battlegrounds? Because I remember when I was playing in vanilla before the first battlegrounds were introduced…world pvp was so prevalent and the most fun I’ve ever had in video gaming. But once the first BGs were introduced, it was the first noticeable big drop off in players out in the ‘‘world’’ as most of the pvpers went into the instances of battlegrounds. (The next big drop offs to world pvp were arenas and flying)
Yes when rating system came in with no bgs. That was the best pvp. Bgs made world pvp inefficient to grind honor. I wish they made it more open world but went care bear to bgs. I loved warhammers pvp. World quests that incentivized pvp. Really ashara model would of been way nicer than bgs. How fun would it be to have random world zones open to pvp every hour. I remember how much fun stv was helping lowbies lvl by protecting them from griefing.
Yes STV! Ahh the memories! World pvp pretty much WAS the entire game of WoW for me. Nothing else really captivated my attention/addiction. Who wants to go do the same ol’ bgs again. Haven’t we all done them thousands of times already lol.
I’m not sure if the OP is responding to himself considering the post numbers, and the instant response agreeing so quickly. Plus the same ascii letter characters. Hmm, weird coincidence.
Either way, maybe you had an unfortunate experience with your realm. The realm that I was on, when BGs came out, naturally it was new and exciting. We never had that before. Horde and Alliance still set up World PvP events on the realm forums and a lot of players participated. I’ve even created some of my own! Lotta fun.
I wouldn’t worry too much though. This time around, it won’t be this brand new thing nobody ever seen! - WSG, AB, AV have been the same (mostly) for quite some time. Retired and current players still know what these battlegrounds are like. They will probably not queue as often compared to when it was new over a decade ago.
They also both have the same achieves unlocked LOL
Ha! I forgot you can even check that. I was going off the overall names, post numbers, how they are the same level, and paragraph/typing style. Glad I sniffed it out.
And the alt posting begins. This is going to be great.
Yep. World pvp was the game for me then bgs killed it. I searched for games that filled the itch. I found warhammer but died because the didn’t have layering. Eso had layering and it was alot of fun.
Yoohoo, although I’m not an alt, I actually humored you and posted something. Respond to that!
Yeah, I wonder how far it will go lol.
Nope i just agree with him. I had a thread started a month ago. I hope this one gets more steam.
Camelot Unchained should have good Wpvp. WoW never had it.
It had it just didn’t have a point to it for more than a month. If you never did the zerg push south shore you missed some epic battles. I remember doing the first organized push with my friends. It go mage nova and ice block. Then war aoe fear. Then i dump chain lighting and mage would come out of ice block and arcane burst. We move the zerg all the way to the gy with that strat.
Lol what?!?
There will still be tons of world PVP regardless of BG’s. I started playing in the middle of TBC and there was so much fighting going on in the world. Of course, I have nothing prior to compare it to.
You are not really getting the 11 hrs of world grinding. There was fun pvp just not the same scope of the those few weeks before bgs. Even going to miss the 11 hr av games.
in a word no.
Considering that battlegrounds will pull from multiple servers for the queue…Id say the chances of that are zero.
chances? zero. concept? 100/100. id love a no battlegrounds server. it might be less populated because, ya know, MUH NO CHANGES. but the worldly sense of it all would be cool.
There arent going to be a billion servers, so unique rulesets are not going to happen. Ask the RP-PvP guys about it.
I was once in a small horde guild on a pve server that used to raid alliance towns in TBC.
Never was big enough to try stormwind.
It takes more effort to organize since bgs are so appealing, but raids and wpvp are indeed a thing, even on pve servers.
