The guide on icy-veins basically says to play combat instead. And then proceeds to say its trash in pvp as well.
Well this is the spec I find most appealing so that sucks. Any successful assassination rogues out there?

I played assassination in early TBC ('07) and it worked well with the early talents, but you needed reeeeeally good daggers in both hands and it had 0 aoe. Combat is a much better spec in TBCC, and even back then assassination kinda sucked after Karazhan.
The best assassination rogue is a combat rogue with backstab. Mutilate is just a junk build in this game. You simply can’t compete with blade flurry, adrenaline rush, and surprise attacks. Perhaps the worst part is that you’re forced to choose between dagger spec, dual wield spec, or deception with your last 5p. A combat rogue can get ALL OF THESE.
you dont use any of the trees full talents, you use 20 20 20 in each tree, to be a good rogue in bc
This is a game. Play to have fun. If you wanna roll assassination, then try it out.
Half the guides are trash anyway.
I couldn’t possibly play a rogue without blade flurry. it’s the only AoE we got, we need it
