i am not having a good time with this encounter and just want to get it done. this isnt me complaining or that the bomb ball mechanic sucks (it does) i just want some advice. i use the interact key and the way you need to position yourself for the bombs just doesn’t feel right. they get caught on the map, i whiff them a lot due how awkward it is to aim them and that makes me frustrated as well. am i better off just cheesing this on a different spec/tank?
If you’re whiffing on a universal mechanic a lot I doubt changing spec will help. They all have access to the same thing you’re currently playing now.
The boss spends a considerable amount of time standing in place doing things. I aimed to just kick the bomb (click and interact) to get it out of his hitbox/model and then took the time while he was off in lala land to aim for the actual shots. I also found the hit detection, while not perfect, was decently generous.
And if your DPS is good enough, you can pretty much burn ignore a final wave and go for a final burn. It’s up to you to determine what that actual % is.
On my Rogue, I found myself just saying “screw the bombs” at times and I just murdered the adds with my bleeds and poisons while letting Envenom proc a poison bomb on Underpin. If you get them low and there aren’t any bombs nearby or available, feel free to finish them off without the bombs just to free up some mental capacity. Obviously you don’t want to do that while underpin puckers up into his shield, but you can spend some DPS burning adds the 20-year old way. It’s a marathon, just like Zekvir was. You don’t have to unalive Underpin as fast as possible. Take a few deep breaths and try to help yourself slow the fight down a little. I know it gets chaotic with 5 lines all aiming at you, but if you’re good at frogger, you can deal with it. Just try to keep calm.
If you feel like you need the mobility, you could always go BM. Just make sure to take the initial aggro so your pets don’t get immediately nuked. Also turn growl off.
Just make a macro, makes it super ez. I put my interact macro where my interupt goes and blasted through with minimal effort
lets see it then
You literally do not need a macro to do something like this since you can just change your interact key to be whatever you want.
Clicking or pressing the interact key while he’s on top of you often makes you “interact” with him doing nothing. I’ve got my kill and weeks ago but I can’t defend Blizzard on this. Kicking the bombs should work like the delve curio bombs or be something that works off the extra action button which can then be active when near a bomb by simple proximity…or even better clicking it (again as an extra action button lets you pick up the bomb and changes the extra action button to a targetting reticule which then throws the bomb there doing damage.
And bombs NEAR the robots should do damage when they explode. How does it make sense that the explosion wouldn’t affect them yet kicking it at them does? A human being doesn’t magically take no damage from a gernade that lands at their feet vs one that hits them.
The chaos of the fight is plenty and reasonable. Fighting the UI/controls should never be a part of the gameplay.
If you really want an ez win just make a Colossus Prot Warrior.
Bouncing Grenade + Bioprinter. Damage Brann. Ez.
lmao.
Any tank with dps brann then pick a side so all the adds spawn there and focus entirely on kicking balls into adds and the fight just sort of flops. A bit of dmg for the shield but it doesn’t take much.
still getting clobbered pretty hard, is there a way i gotta move the boss around to make sure that i don’t have 3 ads spawn on one side and 2 on the opposite end of the arena?
a lot of the difficulty i’m having with the bombs is when i’m moving in a straight line and i am centered with the bomb, (assume i am facing north) the bomb arrow just swerves around and faces to the east or northeast
another problem is that he casts recharge as soon as a wave of ads comes out and there’s line aoes baited every which way at me preventing me from planting myself and blowing up his shield. dps brann (lv80 btw) can’t do it by himself either
For adds, keep walking in a clockwise/counterclockwise circle. Don’t stay near the entrance, that will split them guaranteed. Put enough space between you and the corpses so then the corpses don’t mess up spawns.
Try to be stationary, at least for brief moments, to aim your bombs. A missed bomb is far more catastrophic than taking an extra bit to aim it.
Recharge is tied to an energy bar. First one will likely pop when he hits 80% HP and then at 100 energy after. Try to burn as hard as you can at the start, otherwise it will get awkward real fast. If you don’t pop the Recharge by the time the second wave of adds spawn, you’re probably cooked.
Good luck! As a fellow Hunter who did the grind, it’s real rough.
I’ll never get tired of seeing you post that line.
I’m gonna find a new way every time!
I heard it plenty enough, everyone has to now.
Absolutely. Adds will not spawn if there is an add still alive or a corpse in a spot and I am fairly certain they always have to be NEXT to either an active or dead body as well after the first wave so basically you need to have 5 spots open. If say you have 3 spots, the other 2 will go to the end of the line on the other direction.
It isn’t “random” like people want to whine and proport. It absolutely is a skill issue like everything else.
It’s easier to swap an action on your bars than go into the settings and change keybinds.
I don’t agree at all, but I also do not care either. It doesn’t also change that a macro or keybind to the same key has exactly no difference in functionality anyway.
I simply changed the keybind to my regular interrupt key for the fight and changed it back after since there is nothing to interrupt anyway.
having a better time now, my only real critique on this and in general when it comes to cone aoes is that it’s difficult to determine the max range and width of them, if there was a marker for them like most everything else this would probably be going smoother
My advice is know the priority and stay calm. Sometimes he decides to do his one shot cone ability right at the bombs you need to kick. Staying out of that is more important lol. Getting his shield down is very important to be able to finish the fight.
You can really lean on Brann here for dps. Especially if you can stay alive without healer brann. Also usling the clone and little dino abilities is good for that too.
You’ve got 4 months left to complete this encounter. Just stack ilvl slowly in the meantime and return to it when it’s a joke.

My attempt, the action starts at 1:20.
The Bouncing Grenade curio is free passive damage and stuns.
- You can CC the cronies to interrupt their shots if you want to safely cross.
Bioprinter is how you’re going to win the fight.
- Nuke the first wave of cronies with 2-3 footballs, this takes priority over doing damage to the Underpin.
- There should be a straggler, bring him down to <=50% HP with 1 football if you are a Tank, 2 if you’re not.
- Do your regular rotation to destroy it. This should proc a Bioprinter add, this will latch onto the Underpin and wittle his health down.
- Get away from the corpses of the cronies once they’re defeated as well, the burning wreckage will Kill you.
- Aim to do this twice in a row, if possible. The Bioprinter only starts spawning two adds at level 3 irc.
With the Bioprinter curio at level 4, it should do nearly >57% of your damage overall.
I start the fight by charging into the Underpin and bursting him down. This will probably be the only time you’ll use your CDs on him, the rest is when his shield is up.
Notice in the video I don’t even care about the Underpin while his cronies are up. The Bioprinter solos the fight for you, and the Cronies deal more damage to you anyways.
Save burst movement for hard swapping to The Underpin if his shield goes up and he’s on the other side of the world. Or to dodge flamethrower.
It should be noted, this gets much easier if your curios are level 4 and you have a lot of gear.
This is a marathon not a race.
lmao.
